how come when you get sent a picture message on this phone i get a message saying 'incompatable message format'??
how can i get it to stop saying that?
is it something to to with the settings on the phone?

lost my samsung X460 today (yea old fone but i loved it) so i was wondering if this fone was any good? need a replacement fone asap coz im goin away on holiday ~ O2 site said its only £80 on PAYG and my friend said it has good features ~ im not really bothered about gadgets just as long as it works! lol thanks ///kimee

i am trying to download a photo out of my docs which is to big how do i shrink the photo to fit onto my phone

i'm editing this to clarify, and reposting, since people obviously didnt read it properly. you pay iTunes NOTHING. it's all free.
how to add mp3s as ringtones:
1. download iTunes from the internet. THIS IS FREE. you are using iTunes to convert a song ALREADY ON YOUR PC, not buying a new one on iTunes. iTunes only charge for buying tracks from them. you are only using it for converting tracks you already have. okay?!
2. in iTunes, click 'file' and then select 'add file to library'. find the file on your computer that you want as a ringtune, and click open. it should automatically convert it to AAC, but if it doesn't, then right click and select 'convert to AAC'. you have just added a mp3 already on your computer to the iTunes library.
some songs are protected and cannot be converted. if this is the case - pick another song!!
3. once you've done that, using the software that came with the phone, send the song to your phone in the 'MUSIC' folder. i'm not even going to try explaining this part. figure it out. :P
4. now, on your phone, go to 'file manager'. notice this part. 'file manager' NOT NOT NOT 'settings'. go into 'music'. your song should be there. click 'options', and then scroll down to 'set as' and click. select item 2 'ringtone'. congratulations, it will now play as your ringtone. note - if you try to select your song through 'settings' then it will tell you the file is too large. if you select it through file manager, it automatically only plays the first 20 seconds or so. so pick a song with a good beginning. i hope this answers a few questions.

i like certain bits about the phone i.e the camera and the design of the phone but its the most awkward phone i have evr had it has the worst mesage tones and the it is so hard to get a gd ringtone so if anyone can help me with the ringtone situation i would be greatful how do i get to have music as my ringtone.

hi, does anybody have the software that they could send me? as i didnt get any with my phone cz i brought it off ebay. i rly want 2 b able 2 set mp3 as my ringtone but theres no way of doin this unless i have the software. or does anyone no where i can get the software from? please email me if u do. cheers, kerry

This phone has been completely ruined by O2!! The ridiculous software/firmware they have installed does not allow you to assign mp3 ringtones/video ringtones to caller groups (I previously owned a D500 and you had the freedom to do assign seperate mp3 ringtones to caller groups), you can only have one mp3 ringtone as the main ringtone, which leaves you with inferio polyphonic ringtones to assign to your groups. Rubbish! I thought that the S500i would be more advanced, having secure internet access, and although O2's i-mode features are very good, the restrictions caused by their firmware has completely neutered the real ability of this phone - their firmware also means that I cannot get on to certain WAP-only sites as these sites do not recognise the fact that I am browsing using a mobile. I still love samsung phones, they are class leaders, I am just against companies eradicating the potential of great mobile phones. I will never get another phone that has firmware on it again. I will, without a doubt, get another samsung mobile.

does any1 hav USB drivers for thers, i got a usb cable n ther was a drivers cd in it but i didnt work, my fone wont connect to the computer. if any1 has drivers that work can u send them 2 me plz heres my addy eamoq123@hotmail.com

Is it possible to minimise the music player whilst its still playing? Say for example, u wanted to tytpe a message to someon whilst listenin to a track at the time; is this possible??

Can anybody tell me if they have the same problem when the phone is switched off and switched back on again that the phone loses certain things
like the cover picture on the phone has to be reset again and that the MP3 player shows there are no files and you have to reset the playlist all-over again and the alarm tone?
All goes back to the defaults? does anyone else have this problem?

well a good fone but sometimes let a lot be said about protection how can you tell me a tone I downloaded with some noney can not be replayed a few days later it went on sdm protection or what nonsense.
samsung should advice customers o this

as said before at the time i bought the 512mb it was about £20 the 1gb was priced at around £50 but they are coming down in price you just have to shop around for the best deal free delivery ect.
