i'm planning to buy a phone and i have narrowed it down to lg gt505, samsung monte, samsung star samsung corby pro and nokia 5530? what i'm looking for in a phone is screen clarity, effective accelerometer and touchscreen (where it takes a millisecond for the screen to respond), camera with flash that takes clear photos (not necessarily high pixel), with java and can install jar files, with document viewer (especially pdf and word coz i install ebooks), and the wifi is not so sluggish, call function clear, and can adjust brightness, and can install maps whether google, ovimaps or etc. i hope someone can help me decide which is the best. I'm not really particular whether the phone is 3g or not as long as the above are there. thanks

my opinion is: this phone is great but why don.t it have a flash camera??!! and why don.t you put 3G ??!! i mean why don.t you make the second camera for 3G communicate??. realy i.m waiting for the new mobile have good price and good useing.
i hope my opinion didn.t annoy you.
      and thanks

john winchester, 27 May 2010which one is better samsung star wifi or samsung corby wifi... moreI'd go for StarWifi...

but the thing is, your taste...if you prefer capacitive screen over resistive, and a 3" screen over a 2.8"...it's up to you...there's just a really small difference between the two...

                                  Hi guys,

tried everything posted in this forum but nothing worked, so i tried different combination and alas, i found a configuration that works.

                                  here's what i did:

                                  wireless router side:

                                  1. set wireless mode to B-G Mixed
                                  2. Standard Channel = 8
                                  3. Encryption - TKIP

                                  Phone side:

                                  1. delete the configured wireless connection/s if you already have one.
                                  2. enable wi-fi but do not perform search at the moment
                                  3. now open the browser and select settings then browser profiles press search for wi-fi.
                                  4. select the connection that you want to connect to then type the details and match the settings on the router.
                                  5. Auth type = WPA, encryption = TKIP, network key = router pre-shared key, protocol = HTTP, Home URL = address of modem (you can change it later if everything is already working), leave proxy blank, linger = default, adhoc = off, no need to do advance settings.
                                  6. save the settings and do not connect yet.
                                  7. exit the browser and go to Wi-Fi and select the connection that you have just configured and select details.
                                  8. check all the settings if ok. if the channel is different with the router, adjust it on the router to match the one used by the phone. IP address = not connected (it will automatically connect once you browse the internet).
                                  9. now, try to browse the internet but you must set first the connection you've just configured as default connection.

That's it. I hope that this helps. This applies only to personal wireless network.

                                  Happy browsing!!!!
