this must be the worst phone every more problems than anything gmail google maps and camera does not work and i have only had the phone for 2 weeks

can anyone tell me if you can save your messages on the memory card or is it just the predefined 500 msgs? am aasking since i usually get tons of messages on my phone that i usually need to keep as a referrence although i am not much of a texter. also, can anyone tell me how long the battery usually lasts? i normally just use the mp3 for about 2-3 hours while traveling, pictures only when the mood strikes but i usually have my java ebook reader up and running approx 3-4hrs a day. i kinda like this phone or the s8300 but i'm a little apprehensive about its battery life. (kinda tiring to lug around my charger all the time ;p ) thanks.

How can I type characters like this 'Ü' on this phone? There is no option to type this kind of special characters when writing sms.

I just got this phone yesterday. So far so good. Very similar to my previous phone Samsung D900i, so find it quite easy to navigate. But I have few problems though.
Could someone please help me with setting up the email. Like when I want to email pictures etc. what should be put to POP3, incoming and outgoing. I have created a gmail account, but I am not sure what are the settings.
Also strugling with Shozu. When I want to set up the destination it says I need to go to the net, but than I do not have a name and password. What should I do?

When this phone read the sim card I got viceversa the names as they were saved. I saved acording the Name + Surnam but the phone is showing me as Surname + Name, is a big mess, I can't find anything. Please does anyone knows how to change that???

For such an expensive phone one would think the battery would last longer than it does. Samsung need to sharpen up in terms of battery life. Unacceptable. A huge negative factor.

bad and good comments, I'll just mix 'em up.
After so many years being in this industry, Samsung still doesn't have the copy/cut/paste function!!!! the closest you get to that is by "copy to dialing screen" on the call log
When using J2Me application, texting/T9 is extremely horrible! deleting erroneous characters is a nightmare! but it's pretty smooth on other applications such as messages.
ShoZu is great for uploading pics to facebook and other communities.
The camera functions exactly like that of a digital one.... when using it I don't feel like I'm taking a picture using my phone... makes me feel like a professional photographer.
GPS is crab... just doesn't work for me!
You can't take pictures/videos using the secondary camera, that's only for video calling!
DivX videos don't play, you have to register your device first, which is a total nightmare... if some1 can help me out here please mail me on sibusiso.nkosim@gmail.com
little onboard memory, really samsung needs to improve there
it has multi-tasking options (switching between apps) ... Excellent!
auto rotate using the browser, Nightmare! but you can always download Opera Mini, works wonders for me.
As for the google function, waste of space if you ask me! I can access my gmail under "messages" I don't need the google search engine nor google maps/gps that don't work nicely. Crap!
Why didn't they preload a game or two???? where can I download those for free?
THE BATTERY IS TOTAL CRAP!!! I actually wanted return the phone bcuz of that, but then, I turned the "power save" on, lowered the LCD brightness, and decreased the backlight time.. still didn't help much... only when I turned my 3G network off it became a bit better... someone tell me the point of having a 3G phone and having to keep it off??? in short, the talk time on the battery is crap!
otherwise every other thing not mentioned is totally up to standard and exceeded my expectation

This phone is really nice there are just some things that I don't like about it's Music Player.
1. You cannot sequenced the songs on you're own Playlist the way you want it, It's always in alphabetical order.. (That was very frustrating..)
2. There is no way to 'Stop' a track on the player you can only 'Pause'..
3. The pre-bundled mp3 files on the phone when played through the loudspeaker, sounds pretty loud enough..but playing my own mp3 files on it through the loudspeasker, the volume are steps lower.. I don't know what could be the difference since the music files are at the same format anyway.. (But I have to say the sound through the headset are pretty good..)
I hope there could be a way to address this at least the items 1 & 2. Any helpful input would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

How do you disable the auto-rotation when browsing the net? Its such a pain!
