GUYS this is a great phone but the only problem is that this phone is not compatible with windows 7..Connecting it to windows 7 can screw up the memory card...so be carefull....otherwise GOOD JOB Samsung

emersonism, 08 Apr 2010I bought this phone today, and am still wondering if I can ... moreJust go to menu, setting, phone profiles. Then choose the arrows next to the profile you want to edit the sound. On the top of the screen you see the profile name and next to it, incoming call. choose new message to enter the settings for the sms tone. Now tap on the msg alert tone. There you only see the 4 pre installed sms tones. At the bottom of the screen you have a tab sound. tap on it. At the top you have a sort of up arrow. Tap on that until you see the same screen that you get in the my files folder. From here you can choose which ever song you like, either if it is saved in the phone memory or on the memory card.

I bought this phone today, and am still wondering if I can use my own mp3 ringtone or song for the incoming message/sms ringtone. I have been trying to find out how, but I am not successful. Could anyone tell me please if we can use our own mp3 ringtone for incomning sms ringtone and please, tell me how to set up the ringtone? I want my own song for incoming sms ringtone, help please.

Okay guys, it's time to clear the mist.
I think I was hasty in my review of the Samsung Jet, because I've just updated my firmware to "S8000XEJA1" from some shitty fw and I'm loving it.
This fw solved many problems I had: Here is a list of it.
Sound quality Improved (WOWHD - produces best sound)
Touch more responsive
Better Wifi (but still I can't stream videos)
Battery life seems good, I'll update later regarding the Stand-by time
It's a tad faster than before
Better media browser replaces the shitty photo browser
Phone browser loads pages faster
Camera quality improved (still overly bright close-up photos - turning exposure level to '-2' helps)
It's an awesome, easy to use phone, that can do almost anything. But can't F-ing stream videos, at least at my end.

I have this phone and loving it, the only hang up, is battery life. However, very good phone all round, just takes a bit getting used to because of the touch screen, but really awesome phone.

D1 video recording sucks, that's not really 30 fps.
VGA is waaay better.
