hey i dono y so many ppl says cant play u tube videos but i can play everything in utube y cant u guys am using this phone for past 3 months its good and the gps is good so it worths for the money thats it

Also do you think the new firware will solve the hard to use OS, the battery life, the oily patach or the lack of applications?.....
But even for the things that it can solve, we are expecting an official update regarding the new firmware and not links from various forums to a supposedly new firmware which no one knows what it fixes, what it breaks, what it leaves unchanged and whether your data will be lost or not.
We want samsung to start realizing that they have a huge responsibility to everyone who paid 400 euros to buy this phone.
We expect samsung to officially announce the new firmware and officially reply to all concerns as they are listed below.
No cheap excuses or complete ignorance any more. We are going to post in every forum and we are going to flood Samsung's contact pages and emails with these questions until they respond properly as they should have done months ago.

We, the Samsung loving folks who used our hard earned money in a time of financial crises to buy the Samsung Jet, kindly request that the good and caring people at Samsung respond in an urgent and public manner to our following concers:
1. A step by step guide on how to install route 66 and activate GPS. And we mean everything, from how to find the Navigation in the phone settings, clicking yes, restarting the phone, intalling route 66 and what to do after that. Everything because it is so difficult and we are not as smart as the genious good engineers at the wonderful company of Samsung.
2. How to play youtube videos. Include all relevant settings, from A to Z. Do not leave anything out, even the simplest thing.
3. For those who can play youtube videos, how to fix quality issues of playback
4. How to best install Java applications
5. Are you going to publish a new firmware? Are you going to make the new firmware S8000XEII2 official? Where can we download this from your page? What problem does it fix? What are the updates included?
6. A few months back you announced that you will open your platform to developers in order to develop applications for your proprietary OS. What happened? Where are these applications? What happened to smarter than a smartphone? You also said in private correspondance with myself and other users that Samsung plans to develop its own applications for the Jet. What happened. We want the smarter than a smartphone you promised us, and we want it 6 months ago.
7. With windows, symbian and now your own smartphone OS, Bada, have you forgotten the Jet and those who bought it?

Im very much feeling very dishearten and disappointed with Samsung that what kind of a stupid phone they have manufactured, i think this is a very shame and carelessness of the a big brand like Samsung.They have made people fool around by selling a false and malfunctioned device which creates irritation,high blood pressure, tension, frustration and very very sad to its buyers.This is first time i have baught any samsung device and for the very first time it disappointed a lot to me and very pethatic sometimes.
so, a sincere,truthfull,earnest and deep hearted advise to all those people who are making their mind to buy this phone that - "please don't buy this" .

i don't know what happened to
your phone that you cant play videos
on utube! =(
maybe the wifi connection
if too slow/weak!
i had the same issue before...
i did know that i can play videos
on it on utube...when i eat to a
certain cafe and got bored
eating i decided to watch utube
videos to get rid of my
boredom, sad to say i cant watch
the video cause it says connected but
still i cant see any images moving...
but when i got to my school
and try to on my wifi and watch
utube! then BOOM! it played as usual!
hehehe...
it's a matter of WIFI connection!
maybe you cant play the video cause the
connection is too slow/weak!!!

Anonymous, 09 Dec 2009hi,i did check all the fields on in the internet settings b... moreI dont think its the settings. I have the same problem (among many other software problems with this phone). If you search the internet, it is full of forums of people who cannot play youtube videos and a ton of recommendations by other users that do not work.
It all comes down to what everyone has been saying. The OS of this phone is not straightforward, it is not intuitive (unless you want to do basic phone things that 25 euro phones also do).
The good engineers at samsung need to come out and address these issues ASAP. They also need to make official the new firmware and explain what it does and what it does not.
We kindly request that Samsung issues a statement on GPS and Navigation problems, (NOT)Playing youtube videos, broken youtube video playback (bad qaulity), the new firmware, java application problems.
Also Samsung was supposed to be developing their own applications for the JET, but nothing has been announced yet.
It seems that with symbian, windows and now their own smartphone OS, they forgot they even produced this phone.
