Hi guys~
I just received this phone 4 days ago, and here's what I think of it so far. I had a SE W910i for 1.5 yrs, and just bought the SS Jet online. I fully charged it b4 I put the sim card in. It's the 4rd day now, and I still have 2 bars left... Given I left it on this whole time, and I maybe spent 3 hours on the phone, just playing around. I'm still adjusting to the touch pad of the Jet, switching from the W910i, txting will take a bit of time to get used to :) Like the review on the site says, the body of the phone is magnet to finger prints! Highly recommend getting a casing for it. I called my friends using this phone a few times already, and the sound is very clear. I know I'm just giving a very brief review, but I'm only 4 days in, so gimme some time, I will try to put in a better review.
And now I'd like to get some help from more advanced users of the Jet. There r a few things I couldn't figure out.
1/ When I first turn on the phone, all 3 idle pages will have this grey box saying " 302 720 ". I tried to move it to the widget bar on the left, it'll show an icon like the RSS feed icon. But when I turn off the phone and turn it on again, it'll be on the idle pages again. I hope u guys understand what I'm saying. How can I get rid of that icon? Or at least not have it show up everytime I turn my phone on?
2/ When I check the memory status on the Jet for txt msging, it'll say xxx/500. Does it mean the phone only holds 500 receiving txt msgs only??? After I max out the 500, I will have to delete my msgs??? My SE W910i held more then 2000 txts. Is there a way I can keep everything??? Seems kinda weak for it to only keep 500. HELP!

i had a good 30 mins testing over thos phone.
it's an overall good n fast phone. but
1. motion gate/cube seems very uselesss
2. photo browser is so laggy
3. camera taken n veiw laggy too
other than the above....i might consider to buy this phone over LG viewty smart

anyone please try... run camera then cover the lens or turn off the light in your room. check if you could also notice a little red dot appearing on part of the screen. (on my case, the little red dot disappear when the anti-shake feature is on, but if you turn off it again, the red dot comes back again.)
any one please reply...

Jen, 18 Oct 2009Thanks - I have everything unnecessary turned off (no vibe ... moreit is normal that the battery easily got drained on its first use or even after 1st to 3rd charging. you will get the full efficiency of your battery after i think 5 or more recharge cyles.

Well, I got an S8003 4 days ago and from the word go it seemed like a brilliant phone. Everyone complaining about a laggy interface and bug-prone OS must have just received a dud from the factory. Call for a refund.
The design is second to none, as with all recent Samsung mobiles. I absolutely love the screen which is sharper than a cynical teenager, the responsiveness of its resistive touch screen comes very close to the capacitive one used in the Tocco Ultra Edition, with the added bonus of being able to use a stylus if deemed necessary. GPS works superb, didn't get lost at all, camera is better than other 5 megapixels in its class and video playback can compete with a portable DVD player.
One small little issue is the inability to take photos with the front secondary camera which it seems can only be used for video calling, but this is a minor drawback.
Anyone looking for a feature-packed handset in a sleek, stylish package that doesn't burn a sizable hole in one's pocket should genuinely consider this phone before going for some overhyped paperweight such as the iPhone 3GS...

Received the phone this morning,happilly inserted sim card ,used for 5 hours then chared it for 5 hours and on the phone . Shockingly all touch screen functions hanged including hard buttons.This is my 3rd samsung,maybe the 1 i received is 1 in a thousand .hopefully can exchange for a new set tomorrow.

andre, 17 Oct 2009hi jet users, which one better nokia E72 or samsung jet?If you are looking for a business phone, go for E72. If you are looking for a music phone, with a decent camera then go for Jet. Meanwhile, the jet has the best screen in the market so far, which is the reason I bought this phone. The music quality is awesome! Although the iphone has been the benchmark as far as touch screen experience is concerned, the Jet comes very very close to an ipod. Jet is also quite fast compared to other phones in the same segment. I am having a 8GB card which has about 6GB of music already.

Ok about my youtube problem. Has anyone figured out how to improve the quality of the videos streaming? The ipod touch i have is waay better quality.
Secondly, why does it take ages for the phone to unlock? A good 2 second delay compared to half a second on the original tocco.
The phone is really laggy, i wonder why they called it jet! Bad OS (Operating system) or something.
Everything had a big delay, like clicking on messages to type a text. Then sending it and waiting for the phone to load up contacts. ARGH!!

First day it loses one bar, second day 2. Then within an hour it goes from having 3 bars of batt to zero and switching itself off. This is really doing my head in! Phone also freezes a lot, nothin I can do except pull the battery out which is v frustrating.

Anyone else got poor quality videos when watching youtube? I guess i'll just listen instead of watching blurry things going across the screen XD

my calendar alarm dont give me a notification when the phone is turned off, this is not the main problem.
the problem is when i turn on the phone and i still dont receive any notification, nor even in the mission events.
i think this is the only issue that i find...
maybe with firmware update fix this

Whenever I try to install any java game on the Jet I get the following error: 'File type not supported'. Why is that so? Any Jet owners here know the solution?
