Hello guys, yesterday i finally bought the S8300 and experienced it, well the most expensive phone that i had used till now was an n95 8gb, so i might not know much abt high end phone, here is wat i experienced.

First of all the boxing is shitty, the manual is even smaller than the one that comes with watches, lol.j/k.

The AMOLED Capacity Touchscreen is just 100% awesome, no doubt abt it, the touch response is great.

As far as lags are concerned, didnt face any.

The camera is just tooooooo great for a mobile phone. ahahha, and especially the macro images, and the best of all part is the 120fps vid recording, its just a lot of fun.

I have used a couple of xpress music phones too, but the sound quality of the s8300 with a headphone and 5.1 channel ON, is just better than every xpres music fone, imo. But i have to tell u that the built in speaker cannot match an xpress music's speaker.

The slider feels solid and rapid.

I havent faced the weak battery problem yet, but when charging it, its really fast. But the problem is that when u charging it, u cant hear music because the headphones are connected to the same jack.

I will say that if you want to go for this fone, go for it, you wont regret it. But still after some days of use, i will post another reply and tell you more about it.

Rands, 29 Jul 2009you guys must really have dud phones, cos I have this fone ... moreThanks for your commment. Just in clarification - the phone will not always charge when charger is plugged in - this is the problem. So in addition to very poor battery life (needs charging every day) it can take numurous repeat attempts to get it to charge. I have been in touch with Samsung - they are not interested! The phone was 16 days old when I took it back - 2 days outside their warranty period... can you believe that in this day & age that such practice is legal or even deemed to be "good customer care"? I am sorry but whether I have a rogue phone or not....the issue remains that Samsung are clearly not a company to rely on! Good luck to everyone who has a good phone..... I hope you don't encounter a future problem whereby you might be expecting Samsung to help you, because it just won't happen!

Many peeps complain about widgets that get stuck to the desktop. My screen is usually full of open widgets & they all go back into bar properly, are u sure u are doing it right :)

Weak battery has been an issue from day one, so if u read the comments & still bought teh fone, dont complain. BTW, the battery charges when the charger is connected( if it doesnt charge when the charger is connected then the phone is faulty, take it back). Battery is not an issue for me cos its always plugged into my PC via USB.
It does do an occasional reboot, but only whn in running too may things, like when I have too many pics on the memory card & I open Photo Browser ( im talking thousands of pics here-wallpapers, photos animated etc.)

Its actually a really good phone & im very happy with my purchase. I had to decide between the S8300 & C905, & i will still choose the S8300 if i had to again. so there.

Had this phone for 6 weeks now. Cannot keep it charged, the battery life is worse than dire. The phone constantly refuses to accept or recognise a charger, either mains or in-car. Can spend many minutes trying to repeatedly place charger in and out of phone to try and get it to charge. Sometimes the only way to get it to charge is to have it turned off. On other occasions the phone freezes with the screen going completely a bright yellow/green colour and refuses to either turn on or off. Can only cure problem by removing battery. Samsung refuse to accept that there is a problem with the phone. My recommendation: buy anything but Samsung!

I have had this phone for over a month now and though some of the features are great (camera & video) there are a lot of short falls. The main for me being texting, coming from a sony ericsson this phone is terrible for msging. If you insert a word into the dictionary generally that is the first word to come up when you type those letters which becomes extremely frustrating. Also the battery life is extremely poor lasting a day and a half at the most with minimal use. I am also disappointed at the lack of applications and widgets available. I am not sure if this is just my carrier (Telstra, Australia) or if this is a world wide problem. There is also an issue that i cannot use GPS because the software is not supported. All in all this phone has a few decent points but the bad points well out weigh any advantages.

nice phone, had it just over a month, and no problems.. Unlike older touch screens it needs to be actually touched by a finger.. Which after using phones like the HTC Titan makes it a HUGE improvement.

The screen is quiet bright and will take alot of battery life. Not the phone to buy if you are outdoors for a number of days with no power source. Otherwise, a nice handset with lots of gadgets. Try an lg or sony ericsson, best battery life on the market.

I have this phone for about three weeks now and previously I had the tocco f480.

I work in the mobile phone industry and know exactly what I'm taking about.

The pro's of this handset are obvious,

8 mp camera, optional keypad for texting, nice video capture 30fps, really handy drag and drop widgets, really bright screen ( ideal for movies), mine came with a 1 gb but potentially will change to 8gb

                              The downfall:

Phone battery life has left me lost for works. It's dire. Texting can be a little difficult as when you are using the t9 with touch you can ony see one line of text at a time. Keypay is uncomfortable for use with text also. no wi-fi?

In comparison to the tocco and the toco lite I do consider that this phone would be the more difficult to use. Although it has a handful more features, I'd recommend a tocco or tocco lite to text lovers.

Alternatively the nokia 5800 is a very promising handset. Not as stylish but very user friendly and cheaper with most networks.

Erm, im getting a new phone soon , so im asking, is the battery power good in this phone? My sister uses samsung and so does some of my frens, but they said the phone has to be charged on a daily basis also, the touch screen can be rather dodgy at times. anyone can give me some opinion on this 2 problems?
