Samsung Italy: bada 2.0 come in December
http://www.bada-blog.de/2011/12/13/samsung-italien-bada-2-0-kommt-noch-im-dezember/
Sun Samsung Italy on the Facebook page is a table published in the following section we are interested in probably the most. What we now can see in the table. The Waves I (S8500), II (S8530) and 723 (S7230E) will get their update in December to 2.0 bada. It is interesting that will roll out in Italy almost all providers bada 2.0 for the Wave I in December.
Waves for the 533 and 525 there is no known bada 2.0 update, because there will be a "Value Pack" ( we reported ).
When exactly is the update in December, is still unknown. However, December is almost over, so it will not be long.

hmm there is a saying that "do not try to fix what isnt broken"
basically, if you are currently not having any problems with your phone like hangups, lag, restarts, or you dont have issues with your phone's performance in general
do not attempt to upgrade....because in doing so, you are risking alot of the problems that you dont have for a chance to experience bada 2.0 (partially experience...since it is beta)
but if say, you are having problems with your phone's performance....I think it's worth a shot in upgrading to 2.0 since having a problem...you're bound to have it fixed in a service center anyway(unless you know how to fix problems such as bricking the phone, if you know how to fix it...you probably wont have any problems from the start anyway ^_^...)
so there you go hehehe
and about the bada 2.0's current state, I do agree that bada doesnt seem to be heavily advertised as it should, but that is just samsung being....samsung they are busy making alot of clones to their popular phones such as the galaxy line that they often overlook some of what they should have been also paying attention to, in this case, bada 2.0

AnonD-22025, 11 Dec 2011how safe or rather i say stable to upgrade to bada 2.0 by t... morehmm I myself is on the verge of updating to bada 2.0
but I just recently found a very stable 1.2 (south east asia) no restarts, no hangups nothing bad happens currently...
I dont know if it is just the way I flashed the phone or the firmware I just downloaded but Im not about to take any chances for now...
granted, I too really want to upgrade to 2.0 using the latest beta firmware (kk7). (mainly due to the added touch focus function of the video record)
but beta is still beta....one can argue that anything that is Beta whether it be on phones, software for computers, or games...
there will always be bugs...most of the bugs can be found on betas (and they should be,betas serve as testing grounds for finding any bugs so that the final version will be stable)
and I just recently purchased an app..via the appstore
one thing about updating to 2.0 is that none of the games and apps are supposed to work yet....(I dont know if this is true) most likely most games and apps, if not all, wont work on the new bada 2.0 beta...
so yeah
its kinda hard to weigh things right now
pros in upgrading to a bada 2.0 beta would be:
1.added functionality and cool new interface...it would feel like having a new phone
2.better video recording and camera software in general.
3.better themes and generally better performance
cons would be:
1. If you purchased an app...you are risking a chance that the app wont work in bada 2.0 if you are to update now...and some apps are known to not work at all...
2.bugs....alot of bugs...latest firmware kk7 is known to be the most stable, but there are crucial bugs found so far like "laggy camera" I dont know if its the actual performance of the camera or the saved files by the camera, some people say they get restarts every now and then...
3.after updating to beta firmwares....and when the official firmware rolls out via kies...you have to reflash to an official 1.2 firmware or an official 2.0 firmware if it gets to be available....which can be a hassle finding and may result in you getting the official firmware a bit late due to reflashing and waiting for people to upload the official firmware from different websites...compared to others who waited. and upgrade via kies
4. In flashing firmwares....there is always a risk of bricking your phone, although the method of flashing has been tried and tested...we cannot deny that it is still quite risky

Hi guys,
I bought my wave last year, I have never use any of android/wp7/ios mobile and I have to say bada is user friendly device but it has no good games(for free).
I have a problem too, my problem is with lock key, sometimes my wave unlock itself and doesnt want to lock with lock key, it seems to be a software problem because when I switch off and switch on, my problem is gone. I send my wave to service center and my wave was replaced with new firwmare 1.2 but after month of using I have the problem again(maybe the problem will be solved with Bada 2).
Now Im still waiting Bada 2.0 official release and Im not satisfied with Samsung, they said: Bada will be released in Q4, its December and nobody has bada 2.0(official). Im unsatisfied customer and I decided to buy Android phone but no Samsung(I hate Kies).
I think Motorola Razr will be a good choice and android has got good games which are nice and free. Im bored with bada os and I want to try other os.
So, what I loved on my wave?
1. superamoled screen
2. no laggs
3. best camera
4. user friendly interface
5. battery backup
and, what I hate?
1. dolphin browser
2. no update from samsung
3. no good games+aplications(free I mean)
4. Kies
When I switch to android, it will be totaly different...( I know the battery backup isnt good at all, sometimes laggy but I want something more different).
Thx for reading this and cheers from Slovakia.

first things first;
you say when did we ever... moreDear carloud, no offences. But tell me whats the use of a superphone with super display if we dont have varied apps or games to run on it.
Lets count
1- internet browser does not support rar/zip. So u can browse, but to download, just forget it.
2- gps lock. Isnt it pathetic? It has never located me inside 5-10 mins. White my other mobile n95 can do so within blink of the eye. So its gps is unreliable.
3- app store. Oh sorry, i named it wrong. Its THEME STORE. Nothing for gamers. I mean graphic heavy. We are playing modern combat 1, while others are on 3. Nfs shift still, while other have 2 newer editions in hot pursuit n shift2. Sammy could have been more proactive to lure the gameloft/ea/etc create or port more games to bada.
List can go on. No answering machine. No call/sms filtering. Wave2 has poor internet speed (compared to n95). Sc lcd is yellow heavy.etc etc etc.
.
But all is redundant. Just give up constant influx of apps. Everyone will b happy. None will b whining. But instead we have got a theme store. And seems as if sammy means, "Oh! THANKS for buying our product. Now u can go to hell or f*** off. We r only interested in potential new buyers!"

Hi there,
I've been keeping an eye on bada OS ever since it launched. When Samsung first launched all eyebrows were raised. bada seemed to be a potential player in the OS race then. But look at it now, nobody except few devs know what bada is. The reason? Samsung being too slow and calm about it and their pathetic software support. The original Wave was so powerful that it outperformed almost all devices in its segment then. It was lacking behind on software front. Then Samsung released Wave 2 with similar specifications but with bada 1.2 which Wave 1 didn't receive (please correct me if Wave 1 has got bada 1.2). Then Samsung released handful of Wave devices targetted at different audience. But we never saw bada reaching heights or making records. Even the App Store didn't receive good response. Every time when Samsung holds developer day number of devs is lesser than the last edition. WHY?
First of all Samsung never promoted bada OS like their other platforms. If they think holding dev conference or tweeting about how to port apps to bada is going to do some magic then they are totally wrong. The end user is who decides the fate of the product. bada 1.2 is lacking many features and that's why Samsung created bada 2.0 and announced in Feb 2011 and now it's December but still no sign of bada 2.0. Why? Their policy is to first roll out devices with bada 2.0 and then only give it to existing users. I agree. But how long will you keep them waiting. No major OS update for existing devices ever since they are launched. They said they'll be updating existing devices to bada 2.0 by the end of the year but hey it's December, what are you waiting for.
If you look at Windows Phone 7 and bada OS together you'll find that both of them started on same graph but look at WP7 today. How they are listening to customers and pushing WP7 in every possible way. Today Windows Marketplace has more useful and quality apps than Samsung Apps. Even though bada OS is SDK is in place why developers are not adopting it. This year Samsung released just three devices running on bada 2.0 and only Wave 3 in India. What does this serves?
Samsung isn't shouting loud enough to create awareness about bada OS. Calling devs won't be enough. It's consumer who will be using those apps developed by devs. So if your OS doesn't have end user then what's the use? Even devs have already started walking away from bada OS despite high awards..
Samsung needs to change their behaviour as soon as possible.

Pipoy, 10 Dec 2011Please give me your best answer, when/where did you use you... morehehehe
first things first;
you say when did we ever use the front camera? errr...whats your point? in bada 2.0 we can now use the camera even without having to call someone via 3g....
and about the useful apps, it has useful apps, actually aside from the one you mentioned about not having a single app about the front camera, most of the basic apps are covered at the samsung appstore
and your other point, No we dont need to view the screen from a weird angle to appreciate, its all about the actual quality of the screen which is undeniably good hence all the top tier phones released nowadays have superamoled....please look at the top android phones such as sgs2 ^_^ its just a natural perk found from superamoled screens...Iphone uses led screen and apple even invested time, funds and effort in order for the 4th gen idevices to be viewable in extreme angles like the superamoled.....please look for the "IPS technology from apple" I mean even though one might get by without this kind of tech and yet apple still did this....why is this?
case in point-its a feature that some might find unnecessary and yet because the superamoled does this without additional technology, a big name company such as apple decided that is also an important feature...and take note they only included this feature in their most expensive devices.....the ipod touch 4th gen doesnt have this IPS even though it has retina display....which only tells us that this little perk of tech that one may argue that isnt that all important, is a privilege available only to their highest end devices(or most expensive rather)....
bada may have been overshadowed by android in the apps department. but it has succeeded in merging the user friendliness of an IOS device, and the "openness" of android
in fact, it also has things that are better than android....for example if you are a developer, you have to pay a one time fee of 25 usd in order to get your app registered on the androidmarket....and for applications for the IOS you have to pay 99 usd a year same goes for windows...
for bada....it is free at the moment!
aside from that, android is the most resource hungry O.S. bar none....compared to bada which is like symbian, needs little resources to be efficient thats why a bada device is comparable in speed to top tier dual core android phones in doing basic tasks on the phone...
and bada is actually very gentle on the battery....coupled by the superamoled (which is also very light in using the battery power)
I mean it has been proven by gsmarena already...with their s8500 battery review and now the s8600 battery test review

Please give me your best answer, when/where did you use your front camera except for the ever highly cost video call? bullshit mirror thing at apps? even a single video calling apps we can't install is this phone... When we're talking about smartphone it's all about O.S. w/ useful aps.. Why do we need to view in a weird angle just to appreciate this superamoled thing.
yes at first I'm really impressed w/ this phone that's why I bought it all I though BADA os will continue inspire us like the others OS do to their customer but they failed, they keep on promising us w/ that long awaited BADA-2 by giving us a quarter period release no exact date.. BADA WISH YOU GO TO HELL..
Rate this phone: Hardware as 9.5, OS your beloved BADA as BIG ZERO.... I'm enjoying my new android CP now take note upgradable to ICS-4 ...

Pipoy, 10 Dec 2011SUPERAMOLED screen is useless w/o a good OS....
superamoled is great for viewing media
which the wave is excellent in doing
you really dont need a good O.S. to have an actual use to superamoled....
