Janey babes, 27 Nov 2011Hello, I am hoping to change my handset from the Sony Erics... more@ jane, this phone won't disappoint u, as far as its look/feel and a snappy, non-laggy interface is concerned. Its video playback abilities r gud. Only con, the big one, is bada. Lack of apps (considering u have been using android), can leave u fuming with dissatisfaction.

Oh, just to add - I realise that I'm going from a 600MHZ processor in the Sony Ericsson to a 1GHZ processor in the Samsung, but I didn't know if I could necessarily just rely on that speed enhancement to reflect a true touchscreen responsiveness?!

Hello, I am hoping to change my handset from the Sony Ericsson xperia x10 mini to this beautiful Samsung S8500 Wave. I have enjoyed the excellent touchscreen responsiveness of the Sony Ericsson and just hoping to enjoy the same touchscreen sensitivity from the Samsung. Can anyone give me their opinion as to the Samsung's touchscreen performance please? (i.e. any lagging or slow response?) Thanks so much for your help. Jane.

just in case, after uninstalling kies

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
then we can install the kies application again hehe
and if ever your kies doesnt have an appstore
please follow the instructions here (and download the astoreplugin)

errr, when you connected to kies and it failed to upgrade as prompted, was it suddenly disconnected or something? In any case, lets try reinstalling kies hohoho lets see if it works,
btw when when you said that you cannot access the appstore, you mean the upstore is gone in the kies menu? or you cant access the whole kies system because of the message prompting you to update your firmware?

dear slesh (part 2)
hehehe Im no expert about "rooting" or anything
and if Im not mistaken, from what I understand,
Rooting is like in apple IOS terms.... "jailbreaking" your android device by putting a custom firmware to your phone
its only applicable to android devices this is done so as to install apps for free and improve and upgrade the functions on the phone
the bada version is "wave spoofing" though this method only applies to being able to install apps for free
the bada version is less risky less hassle and is quite easy hohohoho
we can also use custom firmware though ^_^ same process as flashing your phone hehehe!

@slesh-
hohoho after downloading the said bada 2.0 file you must have this application (multiloader)
http://www.4shared.com/file/Y62oIPmp/MultiLoader_v565_.html
after downloading this, you are already set to upgrade your phone's firmware
first and foremost you must have winrar installed on your pc
then "unrar" or "extract" the contents of your bada 2.0 rar file
extract the rar file of multiloader as well
before starting the upgrade process
1. make sure you have charged the battery well
2.backup all the important files from your phone as this process totally erases everything
3. If you have alot of files installed it is recommended that you do hard reset (*2767*3855#)
4. after making sure those steps are done already
take out the sim card and the memory card from the phone
5. make sure your sim card isnt locked from any provider (*#7465625)
6. as the phone is turned off press and hold these three buttons simultaneously (lock key, end call key/power key, volume down until the phone turns on and enters/prompts "download mode"
connect the phone to the usb of the computer
and follow everything from this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XfMn89vOmo
this is a written document how to flash your phone:
http://samfirmware.webs.com/How_to_download_S8500.pdf
as said in the video,(first link Ive posted) contrary to the written document,(2nd link Ive posted) upon using the multiloader do not follow the part where you should tick/place a checkmark on "boot change" just tick/place a check mark on "full download" and also tick/place a check mark on "LSI"
then follow the instructions from either the video or the written document....
If everything isnt clear to you please do not attempt in flashing your phone as it is very risky and you might brick it...
good luck and happy flashing hohohoho!

HELP REQUIRED?
Hey guys nd gals, i connected my wave 4 the 1st time with wifi. It connected to the bsnl wifi broadband seamlessly but when i tried to use it, then i found that there was no speed at all. It takes upto 30 seconds to open the homepage of google in operamini; my gprs works faster than this. My brothers old n86 is able to acheive download speeds upto 200 kbps easily. Is there any setting or something that i am missing? Please respond. Thanks in advance.
