Samsung shows off several S Pen features and shortcuts for the Galaxy Z Fold3
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 5G supports a couple of S Pen styluses – the S Pen Fold Edition as well as the S Pen Pro. There may not be a new Galaxy Note this year, but the Z Fold inherited all the powerful note-taking abilities and other shortcuts enabled by the stylus. Here are a few quick tips from Samsung.
First, the keyboard supports a handwriting recognition mode, so you can quickly jot down a few ideas. This now digitized text is now easy to copy to other apps or sync with Samsung's Notes app.
This also works during a video call. In fact, the foldable form factor allows you to point the camera towards you while taking notes on the other half of the screen, which lies flat on the table. You can't do that with a Galaxy Note.
Text selection is also made easier by the S Pen, just draw a rectangle over the text you want to copy.
You can also use the S Pen to quickly highlight parts of a document and add comments.
Finally, the calendar app allows you to scribble notes and add symbols to mark important events, just how you would on a normal paper calendar.

There is no setting for left or right handed, and if the pen is not perfectly perpendicular to the screen, it is awfully off.

The S pen automatically syncs with the Z Fold. It seems that the S Pen only works while the Z fold 3 is fully opened.
