Samsung still keen on making Windows Phone devices

11 January, 2015

According to a report in Korea Times, Samsung is still keen on making Windows Phone devices. The Korean giant is considering rolling out affordable handsets that run Redmond’s mobile platform.

Samsung has implemented “pilot programs on the stability of Windows 8.1 software on devices.” The company is waiting on the outcome of its legal spat with Microsoft before it goes forward with its plans. In case of a settlement between the two giants, Samsung could launch Windows Phone devices as early as Q3 this year.

In August last year, Microsoft took Samsung to court over payment of royalties. The Korean manufacturer stopped payments after Redmond’s acquisition of Nokia. Samsung argues that the deal makes Microsoft a direct competitor.

I'd almost be willing to bet on the fact that you have not used a windows phone 8.1 device for any meaningful length of time.
