I bought this phone today, so my opinion is a short lived one. The first thing I want to say is that it's not fragile. It feels strong and doesn't flex. The screen is smaller than I imagined, however it's not annoyingly small. The colours it produces are great. Watching a movie on it would be a chore though. I put a couple a YouTube videos on it today and it was fine for that. The mp3 interface is fantastic. The earphones that Samsung provide are reasonable but not great.
I read a lot of bitching about the memory limitations of this phone. For me, the 70mb onboard is fine. I don't need a memory card with 1000 songs on it. Who does? I can put a new album on the phone each day and still have room to take 20 or so photos. I'm not a teenager so this suits me fine. The 3.2 meg camera is ok. I own a Nokia N70 with a 2 meg camera and it takes pictures of equal quality so don't get to excited about the camera. The video quality is average YouTube video quality. Hardly worth watching. The keypad on the U100 takes some getting used to. I'm not fluent on it yet so I can't really judge it. The call clarity is great. The reception is great. The "loudspeaker" isn't very loud. To be honest, I bought this phone because of it's novelty factor and it hasn't disappointed. It's great fun. I will keep my Nokia smart phone for daytime use and take this one out at night. It's perfect for when you don't want to carry a phone around, but have to. In summary, I would say grab one if you can but don't expect it to replace your smart phone. I got mine new on eBay for AU$150. Bargain!

I have a question really regarding the u100, ive owned the x820 for 18 months now and will be upgrading shortly. i have had a problem with the x820 whereby it is virtually snapped, does anyone have the same problem with this phone as it is 1mm thinner than the x820?

a fine phone for those of us with blackberries etc. who want a small, light elegant phone. I found a 900mAh battery on the web that fits (a bit tight, but OK) and gives a 40% increase over standard 650 mAh that ships with the phone.

I have been using U100 for the last six months and I did not have any problem with it except one: I can't pair it with my Garmin Nuvi 660. When I try to pair these two devices U100 start restarting or become disconnected in 30 seconds. Trableshoot section in Garmin does have a few Samsung phones, but not U100. Is it possible to upgrade a firmware in the phone? Hope a new firmware could solve this problem.

It would have been a better phone if Samsung had included 3G in its specs. I like the slim design of this phone. I would definitely recommend it!!

Stunning phone! I have had this unlocked phone now for 3 weeks and it gets a lot of comments. It fits nicely in my front pockets. I love the white text and icons on the black screens. I am a design snob and to me, this phone and the iphone are the two greatest phones out there. The music player sucks and the screen scratches easily. I already got a gash in the screen and it upsets me. Since its an unlocked phone and I am using it in the U.S. there is no insurance for it so be careful with it. I am also having a problem downloading wallpaper and ring tones since it is not supported by AT&T and Samsung does not carry this phone in the U.S. Is it worth the hassle? Yes!

I've owned an iPhone for about a month until I decided to purchase the Sammy U100 as a companion phone. To date, I use the latter more. I love the U100 for its obvious razor slim design and its no-frills practicality. I wouldn't post a comment for the first time ever if I thought otherwise. The interface may be slightly out-dated, but more importantly, it's extremely user-friendly. The 3.2 Megapixel cam is just gravy. In addition, it's much more durable than people may be inclined to think because of its light-weight and super slim figure. I've already dropped it a few times and the phone has endured many more of my toughness tests (or clumsiness). Great phone for those of you that want a sleek lightweight phone that does its job as a mobile phone without all the other unnecessary BS. Love it. Would purchase another in a heartbeat, but then again, that would just be plain greedy.

lots of people are skeptical about buying this phone due its fragile looks. let me tell you all that it's strong enough to take heavy impacts. i love its slimness and lightness in my pocket. slimness is beautiful.

I have this phone and can´t do two things: set the message alert for both vibrate and sound (it seems you have to choose only one); and how to set the alarm for the events on the calendar (I can create a task, but can´t set the time and date for an alarm reminder). Appreciate if anyone could help.

probably this model is currently the thinnest in the world with great features. i have not come across any other manufacturers dared to make thinner than this model so far. if another model coming the market thinner than this one in the near future, i am sure samsung themselves will break their own record again. well done SAMSUNG keep it up. hope the day will come that the mobiles will be paper thin so that one can fold it and put in the wallet.

this is a good phone. dont worry about the battery life because this fone is packed with a lot of features. when a phone has good features it may not have enoungh memory, when a phone has a gud camera it dosent have a good music player. just like that it is got very good features but low batterylife
