NFC-capable Samsung Wave 578 reportedly launching tomorrow

22 July, 2011

Samsung Singapore has announced the Bada-based S5780 Wave 578 is launching in Singapore tomorrow. The compact smartphone packs a 455MHz processor, a WQVGA display, NFC, Wi-Fi N and 3G connectivity.

The Wave 578 is a 3G bada touchscreen handset that will be launched tomorrow, 23 July. More details here - http://t.co/I3nU02sFri Jul 22 11:11:42 via web

The Wave 578 was announced back in February and was scheduled for Q3 release. It seems Singapore will be the first country to get it starting tomorrow.

SammyHub reports it will launch on S$338 (€195) - a reasonable price for a NFC-capable smartphone.

The Wave 578 runs on Bada 1.1 (no official word on upgrades) and features 3.2-inch WQVGA capacitive touchscreen, a 455MHz processor, 100MB internal memory, a 3 megapixel fixed-focus snapper, Wi-Fi N, GPS with A-GPS support, 3G connectivity with HSDPA 3.6Mbps, Bluetooth 3.0, FM radio, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD card slot.

Probably the most interesting feature of the Wave 578 is its NFC capabilities.

So, if you live in Singapore and you are into this phone, tomorrow is a good day to go check it out.
