Samsung will likely not announce Galaxy S21 FE at August 11 Unpacked
Samsung will be holding the second major Unpacked event of the year next month where it will announce a couple of new foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Buds2, and two new smartwatches. While we are not expecting a new Galaxy Note21 this year, it was initially believed that a cheaper variant of the S21 series, the Galaxy S21 FE, would make an appearance at the event.
According to a new report from LetsGoDigital, the Galaxy S21 FE will not debut at the upcoming Unpacked event. LetsGoDigital has seen official documentation from Samsung which confirmed that the cheaper S21 variant wouldn’t be announced.
Unofficial render of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FEThis report only reiterates another report from June that claimed the S21 FE wouldn’t be announced at the event. It isn’t until October or later that we can expect to see the cheaper S flagship.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is expected to arrive with a 6.4-inch FullHD+ Super AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate. There will also be a plastic back panel and Android 11 out of the box. This cheaper S21 variant will be powered by the Snapdragon 888, but another variant with the Exynos 2100 chipset may supplement or replace the Snapdragon version due to chip supply constraints. The Galaxy S21 FE has been spotted in gray, white, violet, and green.
