upgraded frm a samsung v200 to this one 3months ago ,pretty good phone no major issues .When i used the v 200 i thought it had th best battery life but this ones even better plus its smaller and sleeker than the v200 .The batery easily lasts for 3 to 4 days without fm and 2 days with fm. Display is the best part of all samsung phones, the diaplay beats higher priced phones like the nokia 6600 and is half the price...simply ideal who want cheap no nonsense phone with fm ...only drawback ringtones and vibration do work togather ifanyone knows how to do it pla let me know

This is for Ajey:
Even though it seems like the flip can loosen after time it doesn't actually happen. I have used a different Samsung flip phone for more than a year before using this model and the flip mechanism worked properly the whole time.

Samsung phones are not like Nokia and Sony Ericsson. Sony Ericsson has better clarity and graphical interface than samsung. Moreover in sony ericsson and nokia phones-the irda works unlike samsung phones.I can send tones and wallpapers via IR connectivity between 2 phones.

Okay, I was wrong about the LED not alerting you of missed calls and smses. It flashes after you recieve an sms and also when somebody is calling but not when you have a missed call. My only complaints are that you cannot personalize each contact in your phonebook with ringtone or graphics, you cannot program birthdays into the calendar, sms-ing is slightly unuser-friendly, battery performance is not so good and the skin is always blue. The gprs/wap is good, ringtones are loud and easily heard, there are multiple alarms, there is plenty of sms storage space (240) and the FM radio is good too. With this phone, when you are halfway writing an sms and you close the folder, the sms is automatically saved. With my old Samsung, the sms was just erased. I do not use the IrDa feature but according to others it does not work too well. For me the disadvantages of this phone can be easily overlooked. I am really starting to love this phone.

The phone looks cute and fine but can't connect with PC. I need to transfer pictures and rigtones to mobile. Phone is not connecting with IR and when connected to USB it shows charging. Samsung is cheating people with saying it has IR and USB connectivity.

The service LED doesn't alert you of missed calls and smses. I felt this is a bit of a rip off. I actually tested it. When the LED is switched on it just blinks periodically non-stop regardless of what you are doing or even if the phone is idle. If the service LED is switched off then it doesn't light up no matter what. Did anyone manage to get the service LED to light up only when there are missed calls and smses? If so, let me know.

The FM radio has excellent and very clear sound quality only when the phone is pointed in the correct direction just like an antenna on a radio, which makes is tiresome to use. If it's pointed the wrong direction then the sound is fuzzy or has a buzzing noise in the background. I'm happy to answer anyone's questions about this mobile.

I just bought this mobile today in rich gold and if anyone wants to know, it's Ringgit Malaysia 399 as of 4th December 2006. I really like this phone. It's very slim and stylish unlike my old X460. The display is great and the keypad is very comfortable. The ringtones are not so pleasing to the ear but the wallpapers are quite nice. The LED flashes blue by the way. The only thing I don't like is that you can't change the skins. I could do that with my X460. I'm happy that the thing covering the charging port is attached to the phone. It won't get lost like what happened to my old Samsung, leaving a gaping hole at the bottom. I haven't tested the FM radio or the wap/gprs. I will, of course, let you know how they work as well. Overall, I'm glad I bought this phone. It looks fabulous and works great so far!

Hi I'm considering to buy this handset but could anybody tell me how good is the gprs?? Is it very reliable?? I don't want the same thing to happen again as what happen with my old Samsung: the gprs stopped functioning after a few months. This handset comes with an LED right? Does anyone know the current price in Ringgit Malaysia?
