hi, i got this phone on sunday, but because of the Oputs Outage crap I wasn't able to use my fone till today. Hey, I must say, the fone is pretty cool. It's small and lightweight and very stylish. It is very much worth the price. I just have one question. Where am I go to download polyphonic tones, and do i NEED a cabl of some sort to transfer it over?? I'm just clueless in that area..lol..

I got this phone in a hurry, My old Motorola broke down, I dont want a Nokia and it was 9 at night...I went out and bought this...and then I realised, this is the best phone I ve used till date. I ve used every brand till date and I would say that Samsung makes the best screens around, even when the back light goes off...you can see the screen, like a laptop screen. I love the fact that it takes lovely pictures for its price. The phone's also so damn compact. Somehow I hate the small lid for the charging port..not because it doesnt look good, but I am scared I ll lose it...I really would like it better if it had a send to many feature(its actually got a send to 5) but then I really recommend not to look at its cons and go out and get one.

And normally, samsung phones give alot of problems to their users but this phone doesn't seemed to cause any major problems. But I have a question here, hope that anyone out there willing to help. How am I suppose to download the phone's software? Where will that be and do I need a data cable for this? Thanks, your help is so much appreciated.

WARNING!!!
This phone can NOT handle secure connections!! The sad thing is this is deeply kept in quiet by a market leader company.
So you can NOT do online banking or read your mail!
Other brands can do this for at least 4 years, Siemens can for 6.
Piteous.
Pathetic.

Really solid handset. Good overall features without anything special. Would be better with bluetooth however at $199 on Optus Pre Paid I guess you cant expect too much. Screen could be a bit clearer though. Great battery life and very easy to use.

I bought a X640 a month ago. So far so good, no problems with phone itself - very happy with it:) However, I bought a USB Data cable off ebay & it is nothing but trouble:( It has Prolific USB-Serial drivers, uses PIMS File Manager 1. Phone is on Optus GSM in Australia, & I run WinXP.
Says "Error SIM not Initialized. Try again later" when the phone is connected. I see from forums I am not the only one with this problem unresolved. Would appreciate any help -Thanks:)
