It is not written who produced it and I'm afraid I can't tell you from where to buy it, as I am from Romania. It says it's made in China and its name is "USB high speed transmission plug and play". I know it is very difficult to find a compatible data cable because I had tried another one before and it didn't work.

Finally, I was able to connect my phone to the computer, using another data cable and the Pims and File Manager program, and now my pictures are saved on my computer! very happy

seriously, i'm not very happy with this phone. the reception sucks, there's no way to connect it and transfer pictures and the button for the camera is not very good placed, because when you have it in your pocket it tend to take pictures on it's own. not very fun to see black pictures of inside your pocket. :P

I bought samsung X640 4 days back, I am very happy to use this mobile as it has a nice design, colours, sounds and camera.

i really hate this phone.. it has no infrared nor bluetooth... how can i share images from this phone to others.. it does not have usb cable.. whats the 6mb for? just for self captured photos? gr... i wont recommend this phone to anyone.. theres no way of connectivity.. i hate this phone

the saved picture once cut will go into 'fun box > media box >images...unfortunately i haven't managed to work out a way of extracting it from there.

this is one the best mob. phones Samsung has ever produced,i m priveleged 2 use this mob. ph.Samsung has done a great job in the camera of this ph.I would suggest everyone to buy this ph.

Can any1 help me how to save downloaded pictures or tones from MMS to "My Folder" or "Album". When retrieving and viewing an MMS content, there are no Option to Save it to a particular folder or location; Selecting the option "Cut Media" would simply extract the Picture and/or Sound off the MMS and gives only 1 option "Save" - after saving I can't locate the content anymore. There are no hint either given on the Manual. SO WHERE DOES THE SAVED PICTURE OR SOUND GO AFTER THE "SAVE"?????!!!! HELP PLS!!!

I bought the phone last week and this is simply awsome.....Specially the camera in it is wonderful. I think teenagers who have fasinations with camera should try this.

this fone is simply gr8,i'll suggest tht every body should have this fone because of its grt technology and features .The bottom line is the more u use it the more u like it.

This phone is terrible. i wouldnt recommend it to anyone. only first time users (because it is quite simple.)
cant hold many pictures and you cant rename the folders like you can on nokias and such
isnt really much to do with this phone. it was a disappointment to get. samsung d500 is my new love by the looks of it.

Nice phone, its pics r gr8. Keys r easy 2 use but a bit poor on network sometimes.

Anyway, the usb I have bought it separately, it was not given with the phone.
