firstly i want to say sorry, if my english is bad. im from indonesia, have this phone since january 2007, i think this is complete phone with complte multimedia features. it can open page full XHTML use opera mini v.4.
the sound is good, but d900 is better.
camera is good but i300 is better.
but this is really good phone have transflash slot. so i can listening more song.
the poor of this fone are,
* multimedia phone but not multitasking phone.
*the camera is rather blur if there not enough lights.
* Can't change the sms tone with mp3 format(the characteristics of samsung)
but, basicly this fone is good,
i recomended it.....

i did find a java based mp3 player called kdplayer from mobile9.com,but on opening d phone hangs up.please help.

i used this fone for i and a half year and i still have it.the only problem i got rill now is that as the first year completed the display had some disturbing white line on the darker part...but in short this phone has amazed me in each and every aspect...samsung is the best!!!!!

Hi Usman, I am very thankful to you and Rajesh who have been the encyclopedia for Samsung X700 and d900 phones. I am using x700 since 1 year. I have a query...can i change the external casing or body of my phone. are they available in the market. I am from Delhi India. plus one more query...can I have the registration code for Softick PPP as It has expired and I am not able to install games in my phone any more.Please help me...i am sure u will do the needful. thanks Priyank

To AM: This is my first visit after 2-3 months. So, please excuse me for late reply. I am using Opera Mini 3.1 on MOBILINK network without any problem. Try again. Opera Mini 4 first beta version was working fine on my X700 but it's second beta version is not compatible with X700 because it shows memory ranout error on startup. When camera is on, if u press '*' key, camera is working with full screen. If anybody has more details about this, let me know. Thank u.

I have an SGH - X700, but i just can't download songs from my PC onto my mobile.
I've tried using the Studio 3, but it says: "operation is not supported". Don't know why?
What are the steps to download the songs from PC to mobile?

Sandy; the problem is not solved yet. The service center says that the earpiece speaker should be replaced.....

AM i got same problem with you, Try opera mini 4 beta 2 run out memory but it works on nokia...

Dear Usman. I installed Opera mini 3.1 via wap. It works fine with telenor, but with Mobilink it gives error of test failed after completing connection test. Opera 4(beta) gives message"memory ranout on launching"

Alas ! My sister's X700 (previously used by me) has the same problem now. Loudspeaker works, musicplayer works, but normal conversation using earpiece not possible. Thanks to this forum as I realise that there are more people with the same problem.

Hi Usman, Rajesh,
I am using this phone from 1.5 yrs. Before 5 months due to jack problem, phone was not detecing handsfree. So I went to samsung service centre, they replace its motherboard (thats waht they told me)since the phone was under warrenty. But they put motherboard which was used by other.
Now the problem occurred in the last week. I was talking on the phone (without handsfree) and suddenly speaker got dead. But if I enable the speaker phone, it works, even handsfree is working only thing normal speaker (generally used on the ear) is not working.
Any idea what would be the problem.

Is there any firmware update available for X700?
I think a new phone software/firmware could resolve the following problems:
1. mp3 playlist limitation at only 50 melody
2. execute directly any java games/application
3. record conversations bugs:
a) a menu, or a key should be available to do that easily.
b) if you use the codes to activate the conversation recording, the calling party no longer hear you, as well as I did not hear him!
4) Earphone detection does not work well after 9-10 months (probably the impedance/resistance level is different due oxidation.. I dont know?! I suppose it could be set another level value. I have two X700 both have that pb.
