follow steps given by ameoba it will work.there is no problem connecting to pc.maybe steps would be wrong.dont blame on x700.why are you going to return only because of your mistake

    1.x700 supports all bitrates from32 kbps to 192 kbps.you can listen 192 kbps only on phone memory.in card memory limit is 160 kbps.you can convert bitrate.i recommend using 96 kbps mp3 pro format you can read more about it on 6 or 7 th page
    2.maximum audio file size-15 mb
    maximum video file size-20 mb
    3.supported videos are 3gp and mp4.read previous posts for conversion process
    4.just press # for 2-3 seconds before entering java world
    5.try some softwares on www.getjar.com. may be it will work
    6.vibrator is simply not great but trust me it is ok.you can set vibrating tones.but still i dont know if you can set 192 kbps aac ringtone why all of you want polyphonic ones.
    7.open phonebook.then add new contact then phone then you can save 3 phone numbers,fax no,adress,email id,photo,special ringtone,group,and notes

        Thank you so much Samsung for GREAT X700, its too good. Congratulations again for super development.

        I request you kindly imporve Infra quality in Samsung like (SoneyEricsson)their Infra is good even in low price mobile i.e. J210i.

          go to the menu after attaching the USB. Go to settings, then phone settings, then USB settings. Save on 'Mass storage device'. U will then get a message on ur Pc that some external hardware has been detected.

            Guy's I have some problems with this fone:

            Only certain mp3's play on this fone? what is the max bitrate that can play? and can u convert the bitrate?

            I have been unable to play large mp3's with a smaller bitrate as well. i have 64MB card. y can't i play 50 MB files?

            i have also been unable to load a single video which works. which formats work and how can u convert to them?

            can u get rid of that irritating sound when u enter the java world?

            is there any software which can add a snooze function to the alarm?

            the vibrator of this fone is very bad. anything u can do about this?

            lastly if someone has two fone number's ...anyway to add that?

            much obliged to everyone who answers in advance. hoping for some +ve responses.

              i'm desperate. I can't get my phone connecting to my pc. I got the installation cd with my phone, but it just doesn't work.. i'm confused, should i return my phone? My computer sais that there is no hardware for my device and it can not regognice it

                Hi all.. congratulate me.. i b-came a new X-700 member.. ur opinions and reviews here really helped me taking the decision 2 buy that phone... till now i can't judge it's performance also can't specify its weak points... anyway.. i'll ask u 4 a favor.. if anybody know a softwarethat converts from wav to mp3 as i knew from a member here that the X-700 doesn't play wave files..
                and the other software i need also is to cut and edit mp3 files, change its play rate, quality and other properties...
                Sorry for the very long message and i hope u can help me and sure if i reach any thing new or discover anyhing i'll inform u all

                      could anyone tell me the difference b/w mp3 and mp3 pro formats and how to convert a song in mp3 to mp3 pro and what's the software for that. i would also like to know if i can reduce the bitrate of a song and how?pls hellppp.

                        earphones of x700 are really good.i like it very much.but unfortunately my friend played with them badly that my earphones broke.then i was searching for x700 earphones but i got d600 earphones for 1,200 indian rupees.quite expensive but really rocks if someone want to enjoy high quality sound i will recommend this earphones .i was listenung to enrique and i was feeling just like in theatre.earphones are really good and loud

                          To Synergy:
                          Don’t be confused! Samsung Soundmate is only an “external loudspeaker” and not having any ability to play mp3 files. By using Soundmate, you will get very loud high quality clear sound for media files/ringtones ( even twice or more the volume as compared to phone's in-built speakers) and it starts working when you connect it without any kind of settings. But battery discharges much faster ( in 2 or 3 hours ). This device connects into earphone port.
                          Samsung soundmate works on all samsung phones which have miniUSB connector for hands free/ headphones. It means that it will also work with X700 because it has same kind of earphone connector as D500 have. You need to buy this device separately.

                            erm... for my knowledge, the soundmate is a extension which same with samsung D500. the sound are great if we using soundmate at samsung D500 to play mp3. i don't know if X700 also can plug soundmate to play mp3.

                              i am using 256 mb card i can store 10 video songs average 4 minutes video songs 175kbps each on 52 mb space.
                              and i can store 54 audio songs in 96 kbps mp3 pro format average 5-6 minutes per song on 191 mb space .then you can easily put 100 songs on memory card.i have given procedure for mp3 pro use it.mp3 pro is recommended format.

                                I have a big problem is that can i store up to one hundred songs once i put 512MB MicroSD. Please tell me the actual answer as some said it cannot put more than fifty songs and others said can. Which one is right?

                                  So...Congrats me guys..I have finally bought this cell.....It luks awesome..magar i m so very disapointed wid 2 things...Volue is very low...polyphonic tones r heardy audible......and..2nd..the video screen is very small....to watc movie..Though the quality is unmatced..bt still it plays on only 1/3 of screen wch is very small......isnt there ny other 3rd party player wch we cn install and use it fr playing files..like one cn do in nokia?

                                  And also...I thought ther eis vodeo recording also..isnt it there..if ther eis..tel me hw to do it....bcas if its nt..its a huge setback.

                                  phone is cool til now...jst need to find ways to increase the volume as of nw..and sersly in need to fix the video screen thing..

                                  somehw polyphonic tones r only 20..as compared to 40 writen..and all this ring tones r no diff frm ny other samsung phones....dnt they update or bring new ringtones?

                                  Guys i need vibrating ringtones...and games and wallpapers..and nything tht u cn giv...lol....send me as an attachment to abhiabhs@rediffmail.com

                                    and can you send some games and applications for x700 except games and applications from getjar and d500world.tk.send them on lokp0@cooltoad.com
                                    can you test java mp3 player which someone have given rapidshare link on previous pageof java media player.i cannot test because i have only 200kb free java world space.

                                      are much clear and sharp as compared to others because of ideal conditions!
