just bought it.
seems to be a good phone.
no other phone at the moment gives u everything at this price.its not symbian but thats ok. mp3 playback not as top as nokia but more than sufficient.its an awesome phone. its got everything that one needs and he camera is excellent.will keep posted as to how the phone behaves.
note:
* it needs a transflash card as against sd card hence u'll spend a thousand extra there for the card.
* camera is way more clear and screen is much much better.
*keypad is decent enuf though not that great but ok.
user friendly settings.....this phone makes sense.

heyyy thnx usman and hill... really? v can trasfer SMS's to PC using USB cable??? if it is then its great and there is no way to save more then 200 sms coz em a SMS lover n I have to save hundreds of SMS :(

Thanks jason for your information. Yes! nokia 7610 smartphone (why nokia called this smartphone?) with symbian OS can save sms to memory card. So, one can transfer these sms to another phone but price is about 60--70 % higher than Samsung X700.
You can transfer sms,mms from X700 to your PC by using Samsung PC Studio 3.0 software through usb cable

There is NO hanging problem with Samsung X700 when playing media files or making a call. Always purchase from authorized dealer like MZ or United Mobile where you can claim warranty (one year). They immediately replaces faulty sets which are on warranty.

I have brought this phone 4 few days. So far so good to me! Is there anyone can tell me where can I get a Java "English - Chinese" ditionary???

hey x700 offers 200 sms reserved space and all sim cards provide 20 sms space then you get space for 220 sms why do you need to save those sms in memory card .messages are in bytes.therefore how much space you can get when you copy those on memory card.this is useless feature if someone is providing
by the way jason nokia dont have any smart phone because smartphone means running pocket windows 2003 or 2005.not symbian.

1.yes you are right there is no timestamp on sentbox.but i dont think that there is need for timestamp specially for sentbox
2.samsung pc studio 3 works maybe you are using win 98 .because this works on win 2000,xp atleast for me
3.just open settings on your phone and then phone settings then usb settings then select mass storage.connect to pc with usb data cable and then you will see removable drive in my computer just copy files over there

its not in the warranty from PAKISTAN, she has got it from UK, her bro is in UK, ehm ehm so its confirmmm there is no hanging problem?? coz after her bad experience wid x700 samsung (not panasonic} i m really confused to buy it.. plzz confirm this plzz.

the problem you have mentioned is unbelievable.this phone is very much stable compared to other phones.i agree that phone can be hang because of only two reasons .
1)installing java application
2)http transfer using java application
except these phone cannot be hanged.maybe she bought panasonic x700.because there is no problem with x700 particularly about crash.

Just bought this phone:-
Problem no 1. Messages in Sent Box have no date and time stamp
Problem no 2. The Samsung PC Studio 3 does not work
Problem no 3.Cannot get the phone to connect to the pc

If this is true as you said. Then it is very strange!! Why she did not claim warranty? And from where she got X700? From Mobile Zone or from United Mobile? And it is also very hard to believe that she sold it out even it was a faulty set!! Good Joke !!

to all who want to install java games by usb data cable
1.install smasung java uploader and softick ppp from www.d500world.tk in mischelenous.you will find both softwares passworld for files is www.d500world.tk
2.install softick ppp only on windows xp.
3.select exclusive mode.
4.point towards softick icon on right panel.you should see message that i device connected.
5.on x700 type #*536963# press c button near softkey
6.type #*5737425# select ppp up then usb
7.open java uploader on computer and select javafile.you can download game and applications from same site.
8.type #*5737425#
9.then select serial download application will be installed.
10.if you are still having problem then try-
usb installtion guide which you can get on help menu of website

To Kiran: nokia 3230 is slow responding phone even more slower than 6600. It has only 6mb internal memory and with mono mp3 player. So what you think, how many java softwares it can install?Also only 65k colours screen...

transflash also known as microsd card is ultra small sized even compared to rs-mmc(reduced size-multimedia card).transfer rate of microsd card is very fast.rs-mmc also have good transfer rate compared to mmc.both of them have less availability.but they are available and costs more thn normal mmc and mini sd card.but both give high class performance.both are available in market .but you have to search them littlebit.
by the way there is no need for mr.hill just hill i am 18 years old old only

heyyyy! a week ago, my friend's sis buy this handset here in PAKISTAN and this fone is having a very very much hanging problemmm! she has cell it out within 6 days of purchase, the fone goes hang evry time in making calls, som times in listening to mp3's and restart it by it self! but y no one has wrote about this big problem??

U r right Mr.Hill.That's a stupid question indeed. But I have one more (stupid) question.X700 uses Tflash(microSD) and 3230 uses RS-MMC. What's the difference? Both r available in retail market?

the nokia 3230 is good but not as much as good as x700.the problem which you have mentioned here that doesnt exists.do you want to hear mp3 while you are busy in call.

I am slowly inching towards X700. But it looks strange to me that the mp3 has to be stopped when we need to place a call. 3230 has the overcomes this drawback.
