Im also keep getting "remote computer did not repond", da same prblm... wat shud i do? can use da internet in phn but cant use da phn as a modem for pc. plzzzzzzz sum1 get da solution...

I have tried very hard but i cannot get this mobile to dial up as a modem with my computer. I keep getting "remote computer did not repond". Im sure there is some setting somwhere i am overlooking. If anyone knows the solution to this problem, please post. Thanks.
Other than that, its a great handet, especially the abilities of the camera.

From Argentina: the firmware that cames with this phone is very limitated, how can i change it? wich one is better?

I got this phone in Argentina (A706 Really). To turn on the EXTERNAL DISPLAY you only need to press 2 secs the VOLUME CONTROLS and it turns on. The Only problem i have (is not the phone, is the firmware really) is to MINIMIZE NETFRONT and JAVA, the phone doesn't got this feature.

Hi there everybody! I just bought this cell phone in Argentina and I noticed I can not use a few features I was used to with other cells... I mean, is there are way the external screen is ALWAYS on, so you can see the time, and if you lost any call or message?? Also, is there any way to set it up so it rings or make any noise when you have a missing call?? Hope you can answer to me. Thanks!! Vanesa.

I'm using one now in Chile, the model is named "A706" here also. HSDPA works well with Entel operator. The external buttons work very good for me, but they are alost totally useless, because the media player is a pity.

Hi Hi Hi!! I`m from Argentina and here the name of the phone is Samsung A706, the first 3G in Latinoamerica, we are delayed jajaa but I`m happy I bought one today... I`ll be looking comentaries to learn more about the phone, chau!!!!

Very good phone. Superb display, the best I've ever seen.
The only stupid thing is touch buttons on external display - sometimes works, sometimes not. But mostly not.
My opinion: 9/10 pts.
Question for guys from Samsung: Why this phone hasn't FM radio? Shame on you!

hi just got this phone tday and was wundrin if u can change the options 4 the main keys, (the 1s with dots on) at the minit, 1 is messages and 1 is webnwalk (im on tmobile)can i change thesse 2 nethn else? maybe the main menu, atm i have to use the ok button bt on my old samsung it was the main button(with dots) on the right, wud rele apreciate if any1 cud help at all, thanx xx

I have a crush on this phone when i first saw it! Trust me, I've use every function of this phone so I can give a detail answer!
Pro-1.Nice and slim design. very light to carry.
2.The Illuminating light-touch is very cool. You don't have to open the clamp, just simply tap the middle touch key and it will automatily load the music.
3.The camera is very clear compare to other phone and it has autofocus!When u load your picture to your com, you'll be amaze by the quality.
4.Having HSPDA, the loading speed is so damm fast it will make leave u in shock!
5.The color quality is very vibrant, very
clear. the flash menu animation is very cool.
6.The Key pad is button is big and very flexible, very nice to press, navigation is one of the best.
7.Able to take pictures with the internal
camera, and i believe the internal camera is already like 1 megapixel, because i can use the internal cam to take picture or even video!
8.You can take pictures of yourself in many ways, either using the external screen or using the internal screen, so cool!
9.For video calling, the internal camera is so clear, when i compare my phone with my friend SE, I can hardly see his face and its so blurr but for his screen he can see me awesome clear!
10. The music quality is so fine and clear. its quite loud too, i don't think it will lose to the SE or Nokia.
11. Not like the old samsung phone, now for example u type a text and someone call, the unsent message will be save in draft so u don't have to type your message again!
12. It contain Utrack, for example u lost
your phone, and the thief without knowing the phone has Utrack function the minute he put in his sim card in, I'll get to know his no! then the next step will be calling the police! this Is a real cool function. Plus it has privacy lock to prevent other to look at your files and pictures another cool thing! and also it has offline mode whereby u can listen to music while taking flight!

i got this phone about 4 moths ago....and now its freeze...thats what i get for thrying to be a wise guy...but!!!! i tested the phone and this i what i think..
The Pros
============
-its a very nice phone has a nice cam 2mps with autofocus...and the autofocus makes all the difderence...believe me.
-has a very nice MP3 playback...better then a lot of mp3 players lying around.
-very nice screen with nice colors...i have a panasonic vs2 that has 1.6M colors and the same resoution and i dont see diferences
-it works as a computer modem.... you plug the phone to the computer and can suft the web...and its quite fast.
- very nice keypad
-reads excel files, word files, HTML and PDF files.
- has 2 bateries, USB cable, and head phones included + a very nice manual
- it lets you hear your call prety decently...but its better with the headphones
The Cons
=============
-very small batery life but there are 2 of them
-its not multitask only on the preselected tasks in the button above the off botton
-does not let you organize your files because it has preselected folders, or install games directely from the phone. the games have to be uploaded to a server the acceced from the phone.
-gets kinda slow on the media player and on the playlist....my is still very movable.
- the size...but it has to be because of the screen that is also huge and very nice

helo. ive been using this phone for about 8 months now and im happy to say that i have no problems at all with the unit. great features, graphics, nice tones, the camera's ok. 2m aint bad at all. and its light. not to mention the sleek black design..:)

Hi, I need to know if anyone had this problem before. I charge my phone with USB. I only remove it from charge once the phone is fully charged. 23 Days ago I unplugged the phone from charge and it went dead. I can't switch it on and when I plug the phone back in to either USB or travel charger, it does nothing. This happened about 4 months ago with another battery....same story.
