Samsung's latest ad hints at nearing Ballie release
Samsung first introduced its smart robot assistant Ballie about five years ago at CES, and it looks like the actual launch date is pretty close, judging by the latest SmartThings ad, which shows the ecosystem's capabilities leveraged by Samsung's AI.
Ballie makes an appearance toward the end of the video, suggesting Samsung is getting ready to launch the cute little robot sooner rather than later. The Korean tech giant promised to bring the robot by the end of 2025. Samsung talked about Ballie during this year's CES.
Ballie is a smart robot assistant that can follow you around and listen to your commands. It can project images on the floor and walls, check the weather, stream movies, consult Samsung Health and display other personal data. It can also control other appliances connected to SmartThings.
The robot is equipped with cameras, a mini projector and speakers.
Ballie's availability is still a mystery, but it will likely launch in the US first.

Cloud-based smart home things? No thanks, I'm already mad at Samsung for enabling cloud-based storage in some updated Android apps without my consent. Even so, I couldn't imagine using anything else.

What that guy said reminded me of when Anne Boonchuy and her frog friends faced robots in a mall when they finally escaped from Amphibia. I think it was Sprig's sister who was attracted to the robot that initially attacked them xD

As long as it can't cook, clean the kitchen and handle the dishwasher it's useless.
