skater42, what do you mean "this phone won't work in Japan because it's WCDMA"??? why don't you read this site and make your self understand how Japanese phone works and what system they work on: http://euc.jp/mics/cellphone.en.html
What are you talking about? Have you seen the Vodafone Japan site??? The 902 & 802 are the newest model coming out in Japan! And you won't be able to use it in Australia even though it's Vodafone there, the Phone will not accept anything other than Japanese USIM cards.

    I think it's great!!!

Why? Well, first of all the specs are superb. I mean, 2 Megapixels is nothing new in Japan or Korea, for the Western Market it is though.
You cannot compare this phone with Nokia, the best UMTS phone Nokia has to offer is bulky and just weird (7600 and doesn't even make video calls). This phone has all the features that one could want. MP3, 2MP camera with the usual SHARP quality, huge in-built memory (NEC is better with 32 or 64 MB) and so much more.
Vodafone will introduce it's UMTS network in Australia in 2005, and if you absolutely need to use it anywhere else then just unlock it.

Well, this phone wouldn't work in Japan because it's WCDMA. Japan uses CDMA2000 and CDMA 1x. But they've got similar and better models anyways, they wouldn't envy this one. Just check out the DOCOMO web site.

Please don't compare your shitty nokias to Sharp! Nokia (even the 7610) doesn't even come close the the 802/902, you guys are just jealous that you can't afford a Sharp.

SO the cameras a 2.0 megapixel, how come it wont produce gr8 photos or videos then? sounds odd 2 me since i own a gx30 and the photo quality is v.gd already an it only has a 1mp camera.

The 2MP unit that the 902 is based on does not produce fantastic photo's. (Serious distortion around the corners.) Probably due to the optical zoom.......

Man this phone is crap. Look at the Nokia 7610 it is a much better phone. It's like a pda and the buttons are great!

I own a sharp gx30, and the photo quality is excellent, so i cant wait to see how much ov an improvement the 2.0 megapixel camera is, and will the video quality be a major improvement?

801sh/sa, 902, 802 are all SOFTWARE LOCKED! You can't use it with other SIM card other than Vodafone's USIM card. It's only made to be used in Japan adn Europe where there is Vodafone service.

Lucky if you live in Japan or other European country where Vodafone is available! Otherwise you'll just have to drool over the V801SH/SA, 901 and the 802's... I hope there will be a software to unlock the phones! until then, Lucky if you live in Japan!

Heyy... Come out now! I just can't wait to own one! My wife is using a Sharp (GX-22) and it's a great phone. Eventhough it's quite 'old' already, but we still like to keep it(not to trade-in with another handphone..) So, comeon, Sharp! Come to Malaysia and make me happy!

Are you crazy?!? If you actually read the specifications of the phone you'l see it's 2.0megapixel. YES 2.0megapixel. The best Nokia has to offer is ony half of that.... plus Sharp has optical zoom.
