I am a user of sharp phone too but i brought my japanese version sharp in Hongkong. they have a store there that sells japanese and chinese versions of these phones. so far i love my phone.

it will not affect the reception, only the multimedia wont work, everything else will work like a charm...

@soupa: well i'm indonesian and i've friend and he brough phone from your country and it works here. so, i guess it will work there too, as long as it was GSM.
