kalyn, 14 Apr 2010hi everyone..i am from singapore..i wanna this model but du... moreWell.....in spore can find la search online sure can get it....need hypersim to work. WHat I know is GPRS will never ever work overseas coz Japan have their own style of network ( so if in spore u sign for data plan if u wana use Jap hp its a waste of $ unless u have a Jap and local sold hp to juggle with). 1 thing abt hypersim is that it will have signal lost issues. If you are looking for 12 mega pixel camera , the Jap brands now in the markets have many models which have this already. Some have water-resistant function , thumbprint sercurity , super fast camera shuttle speed , nice light displays....

Japanese cell phones are the best in the world!!
Unfortunately, they don't want to sell outside Japan, unless you have a seller in your country a.k.a. blackmarket.

The main round dial, just above the number keypad is a sensor, Like iPod.

For Example: The menu style is spherical. Just move your thumb around the dial and you can select the application you want.

                  Hi all,

The phone was purchased from somewhere around capitol theatre.

I've had a fiddle around with the phone. The screen clarity is great, user interface is really good although a bit complex at time due to the huge number of functions. The reception is pretty much as good as any other phone.

The camera is awsome, videos play really well and quite clearly. MP3 and the data cable at the aren't working I'll have to visit the shop again and ask how to get it working (it does work i just cant figure out how at the moment).

Viewing documents work relatively well, documents over 10mb are over the file size limit, the touch screen UI makes it quite good for reading manga if your interested. There are also all the generic functions such as calendar, alarms, stopwatch etc that you would expect plus a few more you don't.

Wi-Fi works pretty well, the phone suprising supports flash while browsing however a flash game 1.3mb exceeds the file limit for that type of file.

HD video streaming is also off limits.

I paid $800 for my phone with the hypersim, charger, data cable, spare AAA battery power charger, and screen protector (note none of these are standard, chargers and data cables are sold seperately because all softbank phones use the same port, hence you dont end up with 5 of the same chargers every time you change phones.)

1 year warrantee included and extendable to 2 years.

Overall very pleased with my purchase.

japanese market is shrinking and if sharp and other continue to make products solely for domestic market then it it just a matter of time before they start closing one after another. look at samsung and lg, their products are everywhere and the chinese are coming too while sharp and other japanese company just sit in their own backyard.in other words, release this phone to the world! hehehe!

I've recently purchased this phone from Sydney after seeing it in Japan.

The phone is currently being shipped over but was able to learn a few things from the shop keeper:

For all Softbank phones (the company that sells the phone and locks the phone):
-If you let your battery fully drain then the phone will lock.
-The inex is only good for one registered sim card.
-Either of these happen then you'll have to make a trip back to the shop

                                For all japanese phones:
-gprs will not work (but wifi will)
                                -only japanese applications can work
-GPS will not work as there are no applications that will work

Info about the inex (neccessary so the phone can be used in Australia):
-Reception is not perfect and varies phone to phone (~90% reliability for this phone with telstra or 3 only)
-Softbank reception is better than docomo
-Only selected phones can be unlocked (mainly sharp phones)

Positives about this phone (reasons why i bought it)
-12.1MP CCD camera. Is far superior to the 12.1MP CMOS cameras that are sold here.
-preloaded organiser tools and apps and music and video players work
                                -Good screen resolution.
                                -Wifi does work.
                                -Phone looks cool

all together this phone with the inex and cables will cost about $800

If there is any interest I'll post a bit more info once I've received the phone and had a fiddle with it.

In terms of able to work in Australia...unless you get the Jap version alot of things will be locked therefore you may need the hypersim/inex cards...but if you buy the phone from HK/CH/TW where its the asian model...you maybe able to use it normally..really depends where the phone is sourced from!
