In my humble opinion, atleast it will need SD865 to fully utilize 120hz screen in gaming, and it still too expensive atleast now in 2020 for average consumer.
Despite that, IMO R2 is still a solid gaming phone. IF you can overlook the small battery (3130mah). but hey, R2 is a 2018 phone not 2020 phone and also it can be solved with a good powerbank with qc 3.0, easy solution :)

that shiny new toy th... moreThanks for such a detailed reply, I was thinking to switch to R2 but now I'm seeing what I'll gain and lose. So I'm thinking to keep s8 for a little longer.
Well my budget doesn't allow s9 or op6t so that's why I was switching to R2. And yeah AMOLED is not good for gaming, though I haven't seen any burn marks yet but I'm pretty sure they'll appear after a year.
While gaming my s8 doesn't give any hiccups or something (except really intense fight) but the more power, the better. It's better than my previous device realme c3 which which was advertised as "GAMING PHONE" and lagged like hell, worst touch response etc.
As for the 120hz that's something new 😅. Like fingerprint unlock used to be.

that shiny new toy the so called "120hz screen". so let me give my humble opinion about this.
R2 does have 120hz screen,but it does not mean SD845 can perform perfect 120fps ingame.
(i.e on pubg, even though you switch on the high speed display the botleneck will be SD845 which could only maintain 92-96fps with slight drop on some occasion).but still it's much smoother compared with regular 60hz screen though.
And I agree with other opinion, camera is not R2 strong point. if you need good camera,pick something else.
I myself choose R2 because good price to performance for gaming and also it's not AMOLED display. because in my experience for dedicated gaming phone which will perform long time gaming session,amoled is not a good choice,,,,

Btw how's the cam quality is on instagram or any other 3rd party apps? And someone here was telling about some touch issues, are there any?

if you want good camera just buy galaxy s8 or other phone with good score in camera sector :)

because in my experience,my phone still never lag/hang when battery below 30% (my phone still at android 9 final update)
I am just curious if the lag/hang is maybe because of software update from android 10? You know that planned forced obsolete thing like apple did to slow down their phone so people start buying new one?

S8 has really good snapchat even in low light it maintains 25fps unlike other phones which even have 48mp camera but give only 15fps in low light snapchat

Best for gaming battery 2 hr in gaming but if not gming then very good battery also,, I use it for gaming and i am well satisfied , cameras are average but justify its price

never happened to me, but in my case I only use my older aukey with qc 3.0 charger.so not sure for other charger brand.
solution: use original charger from your older phone or well known brand with good international reputation.

never happened to me, but it's sounds like bad battery. this phone already more than 2 years old since launch,and most of use bought it secondhand so battery is something you should definitely check before buying.
solution: errr,,, change the battery?
Btw should I upgrade to android 10 or just stick to android 9?
any review how android 10 performance ?
