Jhon, 03 Nov 2023These Japanese brands are selling their phones with flagshi... moreSamsung is reliable with updates with simplistic but nice styles, and the only reason chinese brands were successful at all is because they are heavily subsidized by their government, chinese nationalism, and the cheapie phones are sold away to indians that eat up and fanboy mediocrity.
This is a solid phone that could be bought almost new for around $600usd, but many importers jack the prices up

So refreshing to see a smartphone that is relatively wider & thicker in 2023. Great that its flagship and still offers an external memory card slot a single camera lens at the back. Love that. Just wished the punch hole cam was on the side not center. Great phone Sharp.

Nord3 is a chinese POS (Dimensity 9000 Mediatek cr#p) with no card slot, no headphone jack, flickery PWM screen, USB 2, UFS3 and guaranteed bad Oneplus updates.
The Sharp and Oneplus cannot be compared in any way.
Oneplus is a mid-priced throwaway phone with removed features, while Sharp is a flagship level phone with proper support and features.

Why not get a OnePlus phone Nord 3 and pay half as much for it?
The charging speed on this phone is appalling! Waste of money and time! Thank you.

Mobilemaster, 27 Nov 2023Since there is no Leica thread here, I post my comment here... moreusually leitz phone released in spring just like the sharp flagship and that phone also produced in partnership, who knows how long they signed for partnership. well, it have well known brand on it, it also in limited run, i believe its only been made in 1000 , so it most likely ended up as collector item, niche market also, so it's not surprising they priced like that, you can't put it in the same context with mass produced products
it might be surprising for you but not everyone using those telephoto lens, people also seldomly using the wide lens, it's all about the main lens,especially if you doing point and shoot or really dig in on the manual mode, i much rather have 1 great sensor and lens than having a bunch of mediocre one, plus it made the phone design much more cleaner hence sharp have been keeping those r7 design for 2 years now with the r series and sense series. if only they really put an optical zoom like those panasonic phone or the old galaxy zoom,that would be much interesting. at the end of the day people really don't care about technical stuff,they just cared about the end product that they could post it on social media, that's why people really into iphone and pixel camera, if you ask most people,they probably prefer post processing photo rather than superior camera technicality. i'm not saying sharp have better sensor, most companies probably know people would just buy dslr in the first place if they really want better camera, so you know, just good enough is enough i guess

Since there is no Leica thread here, I post my comment here( Leica phone is made by Sharp by the way). I wonder what happened with that brand? They stopped making smart phones? They have made 2 phones in collaboration with Sharp, the first in 2021, the second last year.
If they exited the phone business I would not be surprised. I mean how to ask 1800 Dollars for a camera oriented device with a single camera( with only 6x digital zoom)?
I hope Sharp will also learn that with only one lens you can never defeat the competition( unless you make a brick of a phone with continuous zoom).
