2 hours of playtime at less than 10% brightness and I'm seeing some image retention of the on-screen emulator controls. Hope it's not permanent...

Defective by design.
The lousy main camera has unusable edge image quality for close-up, only the very central 1/3 is clear and sharp.
The problem is, many apps that using eID verification do not allow any cropping things. In these apps, the only thing you allowed to do is positioning your id documents at proper distance and angle, to fit the imaging frame. The shxxty edge image quality therefore will ruin the procedure.
Since the eID verification is widely used in many public transport, online banking, and telecom company apps (at least in Europe), with such a crappy phone, you basically cannot do the account opening online. And that's caused by the inferior optic design that the company refuse to admit.
What a "camera phone".

For example, my work revolves around a camera, and in 5 years I have yet to discover the benefits of using more than one. I'm not sure what would cause disappointment. Considering that the software is quite proprietary, I’m not sure that mere mortals will be able to appreciate the meaning of these cameras, much less be disappointed in anything, please enlighten me.

A 19mm ultrawide being the only lens alongside an ewaste depth sensor for a phone this price is really strange to see. Also really frustrating since its one of the barely existent phones on the market with a top of the line snapdragon soc and memory card slot and a headphone jack.
