Great phone for cheap used price. Snapdragon 855 is good for opening multiple apps but not much for modern games. Remember, this flagship chipset was released before Genshin Impact so it will not give you high graphics in this game, even 30fps medium will sometime drop. But it is great for games at that time like PUBG. Emulators runs great. PSP you might just stick to 2x. 4x is possible but depends on games. No problem on Aether PS2. Can run switch Yuzu but not that great.
Speaker is not as loud as chinese phones but Zero 2 have the quality of Dolby Atmos. The OLED screen is superb for movies and videos. 240hz is mostly only in menus and will revert back to 120hz or even 60hz when the apps or games doesnt support it. IT IS NOT REAL 240hz. The screen is actually only 120hz. It get 240hz by inserting empty frames in between. It is still smooth, but not real 240hz.
Fingerprint sensor is optical, so will sometime (or mostly) fail if you use a screen protector.
Battery doesn't last a whole day. Only around 5 hours of continuous use.
Camera is good but not as good as modern 3 lens camera. Camera app is super basic though.
Just like Xperia, this phone gets easily overheat when gaming or recording video. Using cooler will help a bit. This phone has a poor heat dissipation.
All of the important apps in this phone (messaging, photos, music etc) is mostly very basic Google apps ver. You wont get any exclusive brand apps here like Xperia Music or Mi photo Gallery. It is very recommended to download your own Music player, Album gallery, movie player etc.
This phone is fast, even faster than most modern midrange phones out there, considering how cheap it is in used price. But if you want modern gaming, try to get snapdragon 865 or 888.

Doesn't really do with 240hz only detects 120hz and performance wise, it is fairly disappointing even it has Snapdragon 855 still lags on low graphics like every game and even the refresh rate doesnt really uses high refresh rate at al times mostly 60hz 😓

I've been using this phone for approximately a month now, and I must say, I'm impressed.
Screen: The display quality is impressive, particularly with HDR content on platforms like YouTube. While advertised as 240Hz, it operates at a smooth 120Hz. Furthermore, its outdoor visibility is great, delivering vibrant visuals even in bright sunlight. You get 3 hdr options for YouTube and hdr supported apps. It so has virtual hdr which can turn normal videos into hdr.
Battery: In my usage experience, the 3130mAh battery performs admirably, providing approximately 5 hours and 30 minutes of usage under normal conditions, which includes data/Wi-Fi usage, occasional gaming, and camera use. When primarily engaged in activities like movie watching without much browsing or gaming, the device can easily last around 7 hours. Considering the size of the battery and resolution and size of the screen this is impressive. It take around 1 hour 30 minutes to fully charge using my 8 watt charger. It does charge at higher speeds with a better charger I'd assume.
Performance: The device maintains fluid performance without any noticeable lag, swiftly opening apps and games within 1-3 seconds. Multitasking is smooth, with minimal app closures in the background. Even resource-intensive tasks like video editing in applications such as Alight Motion or Kinemaster are handled with ease.
Camera: The primary rear camera is impressive, with its excellent dynamic range for both photos and videos and amazing quality. However, the ultrawide lens exhibits slightly lower dynamic range in videos compared to photos. On the front, the camera performance is somewhat disappointing, particularly in terms of dynamic range.
For recording options you get 4k30fps and 1080p30fps on main.
For the ultrawide you get an additional 1080p60fps which isn't on main.
The front only has 1080p30fps
Sound: The stereo speakers deliver an exceptional audio experience, especially when paired with Dolby Atmos and optimized equalizer settings. I highly recommend using Dolby Atmos because the audio doesn't sound great when it's off.
Gaming: Equipped with the Snapdragon 855 chipset, the device offers robust gaming performance, outperforming many mid-range and budget alternatives. It handles Play Store games and emulation smoothly, with minimal heating issues except under prolonged usage in direct sunlight or during intensive tasks like 4K video recording.
Biometrics and Security: The on-screen fingerprint sensor, while not the fastest, reliably unlocks the device without any major issues.
Software: Running on stock Android, the Aquos Zero 2 offers a clean and intuitive user experience with ample customization options. There are some unnecessary apps but they can be easily disabled. It's worth noting that the device is currently stuck on Android 10, with updates to Android 12 only available through Japanese servers, which may require a factory reset for installation, as shown in various online tutorials.
Design and Build Quality: It's very slim profile and lightweight design make it comfortable to hold for extended periods. Despite primarily plastic, it feels very premium, resembling glass and aluminum along the edges.
This phone is amazing for its current price, instead of settling for budget phones around the same price with mediocre soc's like helio or unisoc you're better off getting an older flagship. It only cost me $95 and I got 8gb ram and 256gb storage, highly recommended.
