Copy#pasted from SHARP site....

Sharp are not able to provide the software upgrade for a GX30 handset to become a GX30i. There has been some minor hardware changes to the GX30i, this unfortunately means that GX30i software cannot be flashed into a GX30 under any circumstances, as this could cause operational problems with the handset and would also mean that the handset is no longer approved for connection to the network. The GX30 & GX30i models have been declared to the certification authorities as two separate phones and the GX30i has been separately type approved as a product variant. Therefore, software is not interchangeable between the two phones, since the GX30i software has not been certified on the GX30. A software upgrade of a GX30 handset with GX30i software would result in legal and regulatory implications.

Hi guys can wait for every for gx40/42, thats if they exist :S. But the gx32 looks like a nice sub for the mean time, just wanted to know if there is such thing as gx32i like its cousin the gx30i that has full bluetooth. If so how can you distinguish between the gx32 and 32i is 8 mb instead of 6 mb on board mem a factor???
      THANKS

In Belgium 'Proximus' doesn't sell the GX30i. But all SHARP phones being sold by Proximus and like all Governement facilities they don't think commercial. Even some sellers doesn't know the GX30i. My good.....

I have had the GX30 for a few months now and I LUV the screen, mp3s and Camera!

The screen is the highest resolving and brightest under the current 256K 230x240's. This model is over 1 year old and for it's time the Camera and Screen were the BEST.

I'm very much anticipating the GX40 and hope that the Camera will be even clearer, the screen can stay the same, Bluetooth and IrDA will be unlocked by default and that it may have some good managing functions. Overall Sharp lacks good software, but I'm sure they will fix that in the future.

Does anyone have news on the GX40?

                Differences between gx30 and gx30i:

-IR and BT unlocked, you can send and receive things on both
-Calendar is much better in gx30i

I am disappointed this GSM for the price, the possibilities would have being much more complete. Bluetooth connection is usable only for the free hand or the auricle. IR is not usable for transfer GSM towards GSM.

man i had this phone for only 4 days and i sold it on ebay already. those features aren't fully functional and that so-called mp3 ringtones?! u can't even transfer anything that's over 100k. other than the picture quality, this phone is no different from a regular quad-band phone...

take my word for it, go for sony ericsson or nokia.

Crap! Crap! Crap!!!! CRAP!!! Nothing works on this fone!!!!!! The company says too many things about its specifications, but the half of them work. Also it's very pricey. I sold it and I bought a Nokia one. CRAP!!!

I like this phone, but the sound quality is not very good. I only like the screen resolution but I still considering a very expensive mobile phone. Take my advice. Buy something more famous, for instance NOKIA, Motorola or Samsung

The video recording maximum capacity for the GX30/32 is 400 kb (about 1 minute and 10 seconds). The difference between the GX30 and GX30i is the GX 30 has bluetooth for headset only. The GX30i has full bluetooth.

no matter how big your memory card is the video recording time on the GX30/32 is about 1.5 minutes (300K) There is no way to make the recording longer on this unit. If you want unlimited recording time consider getting a 902, it'll record up to 2 hours on a 1GB SD card.
