Fantastic phone but a few short fallings... the Bluetooth is audio only... not data... Why??? and the infrared is only available to connect to the pc not to use to send images to other phones etc.

I have purchased this phone for free on contract with £30 a month from the link in the uk. The camera has got me all hyped u for the next sharp gx30. although im a bit worried about the bluetooth on it. i can search for devices but cant do nuttin with my mates bluetooth phones? it wud be better if the phone came with a datacable. Also i aint sure whether the phone can play MP3 ringtones yet, the onboard memory isnt 2mb its 8mb. and i upgraded the standard 8mb sd card to a 256mb card, yey :). but dont know how to put mp3 on my phone from the bluetooth on my laptop. so i just bought an sd card reader for £5 on ebay. not much to ask for as its easier than sending and receiving. Anyway good phone features:9 camera:10 size:7 Quality:9. A phone deffinately worth considering although i was tempted to go for the NEC e616 3G fone, but i got this in da end :)

I just got the GX30 last week. its a great phone but only one problem. I dont think that you can add words to the dictionary when writing SMS messages and are in T9 text mode. This is annoying as its not so easy to switch from T9 to normal text input. Maybe I am missing something????

Once again, the person below me is a Sony Ericsson and Nokia hermit. The most over hyped brands ever, while more talented and better companies like Sharp, Siemens, Panassonic and Motorola get thrown into the dark and not even considered competitors. The 6600 a great phone?! C'mon, even a fake breasted individual feels less cheap and plasticy than the toy-like 6600 and the P900, for your info, i've tried it and it's so hyped up to be the phone it really isn't. Nokia is not a majoy player in the mobile world the way it used to be, and Sony Ericsson has a few good phones, T610/P800, but other than that you can't say SE is a mahoy player because of a few good phones. The old Ericsson phones were had much more character than the current brand such as the T39. Nothing extraordinary so why are two shitty companies so hyped to be mega? A load of rubbish are the overrated 6600 which can't even play MP3 files unlike the underrated SX1 (Gorgeous phone) and the Transformer-like toy phone, P900 which thinks it's a PDA but can't hold a candle to the XDA II. Oh, and all these Nokia and SE people are probably mid life crisis hermits still living with mummy and daddy.

The camera on the phone is far superior to anything out there at the moment. As a phone it ain't that good to be honest. The menu is good enough but thats it!!. No fun or mystery about the phone. If all you wanna do is make and receive calls and texts and take good pictures then fine. If you want a phone that can do more than you ever imagined then get the P900 or 6600. I have both. P900 is the best for multimedia. 6600 is the best "phone". Hope this helps.

Can you lazy people stop asking questions about this (based on specs) and get your ass over to,
http://213.249.206.60/europe/uk/features/features.asp?id=gx30
You'll find a full list of features and specifications on the phone.
Also, Sony Ericsson phones are certainly not crap. The upcoming SEs are inferior to the Sharp GX30, based on specifications and reviews. However, the GX30 has weaknesses - such as the VERY POOR bluetooth options.
Sharp are the king of the castle for now, but SE and Nokia have some plans up their sleaves.

Got the phone as a free upgrade! Initally loved it. photo quality was superb! Unfortunately there is no voice dialling from bluetooth and when you are on a call via bluetooth headset, when you shut the phone it hangs up the call!?! So I've got to leave the phone in it's open position and try to stuff it in my pocket when in the car making calls! No THANKS!! Returning it tomorrow, revert back to trusty Sony Er t68i until there new range come out in June/July.
