I don't say that 350 euro isn't much money (just read)!! If you compare the TM200 with others like the s700 or d500, then he isn't expensive at all!! Other brands costs much more.

$350 Euro is a lot of money for some... Ebay.de got a great price and I posted that a couple posts back as well. Yet I believe that it is a suitable price and shouldn't be beaten by any means (I'm talking RRP and buy-it-now, not auctioning). Sharp phones have a high quality standard, and selling them too cheaply, or even in mass (like Samsungs phones) would ruin their image and popularity.
I don't see the TM200 as a trend-phone, but not as a business phone either. I think it's definatelly a valuable Multimedia phone and for people who really use the camera, mp3 player internet etc...but I don't think it will sell in great quantities.
I have the GX20 and use the pictures I take for the internet, ebay and MMS. If I would get the TM200 I am convinced that I would not need a digital camera, MP3 player etc... I would have it all in one.
But then again, others just play with the features once or twice and never touch them again. I see people with a GX30, and Apple I-Pod and a CASIO 4 MPx camera and wonder sometimes...
You can extend the SD Memory to 512MB on the GX30 and TM200, have a 1 and 2 MPx Camera which is sufficient for high-quality 13 x 8 cm print outs, listen to MP3's, browse the net, play games etc etc...for a normal everyday person this would be enough. People with digital cameras either print their images or put them on the web (if even)... so the GX30, TM200 and 902/802 phones have it all. So I find the price justified for what you are getting.
My two cents.... ;)

This phone isn't expensive. You can buy it new for 350 euro at Ebay.de (for example; D500 costs 450, S700 costs 500). So the TM200 is not an expensive phone!

CHEAP
@ unknown
Exactly...the quality of the SHARP phones is one of the highest available. The camera, screen and manufacturing are high-class and that's why I think the price MUST NOT be cheap.
You ruin your image by selling phones like these for a throw-away price. Save up for one and you'll be even happier once you own it.
Allright...you all have a great week.

Well, customer here must just be cheap... And just expecting more for less, a 2MP camera phone is not cheap anywhere so you're right, the people I deal with are tight, cheap, etc.. I guess that's all I can say. I usually say that if you want quality you gotta pay the price, but they (customer) doesn't seem to understand why just a two-way cell phone would cost so much, duh! you're paying for the high quality camera and other feature that the cheap one doesn't have.

THE PRICE
Ok,...I just checked t-mobile.de and the price is Euro 149 with E 25 monthly charges over 24 Months. Are you kidding??? THAT'S NOT EXPENSIVE.
You all have to consider what this phone can do... Vodafone sells the V902SH for E 360 over 24 months...and the TM200 is just as good.
This phone isn't meant to be cheap. If you can afford the technology...then buy it. If not...bad luck. Nothings for free guys. And you won't get this phone cheaply either...check out ebay I found it there for E 360 buy-it-now.

T-mobile you gotta bring the price down if you want to sell this phone even with activation. The TM150 was so expensive it didn't hardly sell with activation. make the price cheaper if you want to sell!

Don't understand the low voting rate of 7.4. I've bought this phone a few weeks ago and it's great. You can even call without open the phone, it has a handsfree speaker. The 2mp camera is fantastic also the 262K screen is. I replaced the "big" antenna for a mini metal one. This phone is cheaper then a s700 or d500 but offers the same.
tm200=great!

I've seen the TM200 for Buy-it-now on ebay.de priced at around Euro 360. That's not a bad price at all, quite affordable compared to E 999 for the 902.
I would consider buying the TM200 over the 902 because it has Autofocus, and for the simple reason that I do not require all the UMTS services. Video talk is nice, but not a necessity, same with broadband internet.

It seems one important feature (to me anyways) that Sharp seem adamant to exclude is an ACTIVE FLIP!
All previous Sharp clamshells have been missing this feature, which IMHO is the ONE unique selling point of clamshells/flip phones. If you can answer calls just by flipping the TM200 open, it'll be a miracle..

Good feature, but I think T-mobile's price will be be just too much for the regular and even serious shopper and only a small amount will be sold just like the TM-150.

Size of Mobiles:
Ok, 320 x 240 px with only 2.2" is already the smallest/most compressed screen you can get. If you want it smaller it'll have to be a Motorola 176 x 240 px screen, which is crap. I want to see my photos and this screen is perfect!
This phone is already small, what are you complaining about??? I want a phone that fits into my hand without dropping it or loosing it due to it's mini measures.
I would not compromise a CCD for a CMOS, never. SHARP phones have amazing cameras (for mobile phones) and that's what makes them so great.
As I said before, if you want performance and features you must accept this size. Otherwise get the new Samsung X460, it's small, light and has nothing near the specs of the TM200. It's up to you.

The forth coming appearance of the TM200 was mentioned to me by a UK T-Mobile operator in their disconnections section a week ago although he said may not be until Late Jan/Feb even March. Have seen information written in German on the UK Sharp site. All things point to a UK release in the next quarter. I'll have one please!

ok people do some investigating. no its not coming out on voda, tm (tm200) means its locked to t mobile however there is a chance that it will not be arriving in the uk. the p730 and p735 were also suipposed to arrive in the uk but they didnt. so far only germany have the tm-200. shame really as it really could have done well. dont give up though. sharp did launch the tm 100 in the uk however that looked like a crap.
