Sharp unveils Aquos C10 and B10: Android mid-rangers with dual cameras

Peter, 19 July 2018

Sharp brought two new phones to Europe – the Aquos C10 and the Aquos B10. The C10 is the better-specced of the two and is a variation on the Aquos S2. Its battery is a bit of a concern, though, while the B10 has no such issues.

Sharp Aquos C10

The Sharp Aquos C10 has a 5.5” IPS LCD with 1,080 x 2,040px resolution – that’s a 17:9 aspect ratio. The screen is covered with Gorilla Glass and yes, it has a notch. It’s a small one, only the 8MP selfie camera lives there (f/2.0, 1080p video).

There’s a dual camera on the back – a 12MP + 8MP setup. The 12MP camera has a relatively bright f/1.75 aperture and can record 1080p video.

The C10 runs Android 8.0 Oreo (with Sharp’s skin on top) on a Snapdragon 630 chipset. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage (plus a microSD slot). The battery is kind of small, it only has 2,700mAh capacity (the S2 has a 3,020mAh battery).

The Sharp Aquos C10 is priced at €400.

Sharp Aquos B10

The Sharp Aquos B10 sports a notch-free display, 5.7” in diagonal and with 720 x 1,440px resolution (that’s 18:9). It too has Gorilla Glass protection and the selfie camera above it has a 13MP sensor.

The dual camera is a 13MP + 8MP combo, the second sensor is behind a wide-angle 120° lens. Video capture again tops out at 1080p.

Sharp Aquos B10

The B10 is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 chipset and runs an outdated Android 7.0 Nougat. The chipset is connected to 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage (and there’s a hybrid microSD slot).

There is some good news – the Aquos B10 has a large 4,000mAh battery. It’s going to cost you €300.

Crimson Chin is back. What's with archos and Sharp reducing the top bezel but offering a chin triple the size of any other top bezel.
