before i got this phone, i hated siemens mobile phones.. after trading in my SGH-A800 and top up S$30 for this, i fall in love with it.. quick share with other phones using infared, nice polyphonic ringtones, no-lack menu, advanced MMS compared to nokia 40-Series phones and many many more..

I''m very recommended this handy. The best phone I ever seen. So far I used S55, all functions have been working and helpfull. I'm very satisfied having this handy. Don't forget to upgrade your S55 firmware to version 20.

Not recommended, I have returned mine. This phone has very poor reception if you can get a signal at all!! Very short battery life, is prone to software crashes and although takes fair pictures the separate camera is flimsey hard to use and you will not be able to make out the images on the very poor display. Most of my calls switch to answerphone because I never have a good signal and when I do speak to anyone they say I sound like I am talking from the other end of a very long corridor. It also has problems working with my universal bluetooth handsfree. It is hard to use with confusing software and buttons that you keep pressing every time you pick it up. On the plus side...it looks OK!

Great phone, menu better than Nokia, faster than Sony. Excellent camera. Only down side is the 256-color screen.

I got my S55 a while back and am really impressed with the phone. The features are great, the T9 dictionary picks up a lot more words than my wife's Nokia, the camera attachment is small, light, and come with a carry strap that you can have around your neck and the picture quality is good on high res. I've also installed the Siemens Data Suite and the Xtend Connect software for Notes, subsequently selling off my Palm. The keyboard is nicely laid out. The only criticisms I have of the phone are the Voice memo key which I often press during a call and the battery life last about 3 days when you use the camera often and upload applications and software to the phone.
I rate this phone 9,5 out of 10.

i bought it, i hate it. the mic on my phone has dropped out, fixed it by hitting the phone eventually, keypad keeps missing letters i type in text messages, phone attachment is crap and fits poorly, it has frozen completely on me so i lost numbers, menus are a pain to navigate, you can't charge and talk in the car.... features are good though.

Hey JJ, if you want a phone with a cam, i would tell you to buy something else. Although the cam for the siemens is great AND comes with a flash, it is, at the end of it, a seperate attachment, and not inbuilt. Plus the 256 color display of the S55 makes the pics unrecognisable on the phone itself. It would be better to get the M55 for this. However, you can't fault the S55 as a phone, but, if you really need a camphone, I suggest u buy the new siemens with the inbuilt cam. or else, buy a M55 or S55 and buy a seperate digi-cam to carry around. This way you get a cam that takes good pics...adn a great phone!

Hi,
Read most of your reviews, i'm thinking of going for a T610 but it hasn't got built in loud speaker and everyone thinks the screen is hard to see so its a mixed feeling of this phone or the Siemens S55 with attachable camera . What do you think I should get and where is the best price to get one sim free? Get back soon need to get one on the weekend. I need one that takes good pictues in semi dark light or bright days also long battery and infer red or bluetooth. What you think of the M55?

It's a Great Phone. Brilliant features and the camera and data cable is all bundled in the package.Even though the camera pictures are very poor when displayed on the phone's screen, it is impressive when viewed on a pc.Good sound quality when playing polyphonic ringtones and the hand's free speaker is very clear

I bought this phone 2 months ago in Perth, Australia. The feature of this phone is world class, and this is a typical Siemens phone - with everything you need plus a lot of other exciting features.. Their support is one of the best. I called them twice for help, and eventhough they are not based from Australia, they still provided me with the best customer service I ever received.. I know I will be a Siemens fan forever!

Just bought the S55 3 days ago. Was actually looking at the M55 first, coz its basically the same phone but with more memory and a better display. BUT, the design just put me off...it would be embarassing using that at a meeting or something. So I checked out the S55 instead. The screen does'nt bother me too much, and I think its design is timeless. The thing that impresses me the most though is the build quality. My first phone was a Siemens (C45), then I moved to Panasonic (GD68). Siemens are really leagues ahead of the others in terms of build quality. The plastics used are the best i've seen.
Features:- You can't really ask much more of a phone of this size. Its got everything you need plus a few things you don't. There's no shortage of support for this model, and the data suite that comes with the package is excellent.
I have'nt really had the phone long enough to notice any negatives, but, as noted in some other reviews, the last row of the keypad can be a bit of a pain to use. Also, alhoough the chrome buttons are nice-n-shiney, they also are sensitive to fingerprints, making the phone look messy.
Overall....I KNOW its the best phone I ever had, and it sure is up there with the best. A better display and more memory and this would be a world beater. + like i mentioned, this is a Siemens, so it should last...and look as new 2 years later (unlike a certain other brand whose last 3 letters spell out the gr8 korean car maker...KIA! how appropriate!)
