I was having trouble connecting my phone through USB to my computer, but this forum helped, thanks! :)
If anyone else didnt see... someone advised to do this, and it worked for me.... disconnect the phone from usb, click
start>run> the browse whichever drive has the setup CD in it, click extras, then the first folder, then setup... re-connect the phone and run Mobile Phone Manager

I have the SF65, it works OK, The only thing that does not really work (well half) is the SIEMENS software (Mobile Phone Manager) also the SIMOCO siemens software works half and the mobiledit software as well, (if you want the software search with google) is there any other reliable software that works with this SF65 model (the only things I want to do is change the phonebook (to change the SIM phone book, the software from mobiledit and vissie works well) but the real address book I can hardly do by computer, Who knows good software for that.
THe new firmware DOES NOT Exist!
The photos are OK, but in the dark or semi dark the camera does no longer work, seems to me a firmware issue.
Kind regards, Marcel.

This phone is truly garbage, lack of features, battery is hard to take out, speaker is awful, ringtones is disaster, WAP is very slow, sms is UN-USER friendly, the only thing that looks good is the phone model (with the swivel stuff) but still, the picture is standard...
I hate to say it, I wish I've never bought it at the first place...
After using it for 2 months, I'm thinking of going back to the full o' fun nokia or incredible sound of Samsung...

I really love the way the drivers DON'T WORK AT ALL with the SF65. It's the best ONE HUNDERED QUID i've ever spent. It's great to see, after spending SO much money, that my phone hasn't been detected by the software supplied by this multi-billion pound, multi-national corporation. And the web-site's usefulness is lamentable. Thanks Siemens, you're amazing!!!

The people that say that there is a firmware update are lying i sent my phone back for a firmware update and it came back wit the same version as it had there is no firmware hence the reason it has not apeared on the net.
The phone is a cracker and works very well no texting issues at all just thought i would share the fact that i doubt very much there will ever be a firmware for this phone that does what people say it does if not prove me wrong

Do not get the white colour casing! it turns yellowish after a night in a disco! I take that as caused by the smoke inisde the discos. So, clubbers beware!
I am dumping this phone as I had got a Nokia 6021, without a cam(I dont need it, anyway), transferring and backing up of data have been so much easier. Just my comments

Please answer my question

My comment is this little gem, is demon in disguise. I can send photos, cant receive them, just get a blank mms. its slow when you are texting, my phone switches itself of if anyone phones me, it freezes as well. inbox box holds about 10 texts, before memory is full.Need i go on.. does take good photos and I have managed to use the infra red on the phone and transfered photos on to the pc.. Open to advise or offers on the phone..

Hi,
Re the USB cable.
Firstly uninstall the mobile phone manager and unhook the cable.
Next insert the software cd, right click on the cd drive and click explore. Look through the folders on the disk until you find the drivers for your os. Double click the setup file for the drivers to install. Once this is done, restart your pc and plug in the cable. Windows should recognise the new hardware and locate the driver that you have just installed. At this point the power light on the cable turns on.
Next install mobile phone manager and it should be plain sailing.
Personaly I don't bother with the mpm program itself, I just use the "explore siemens" folder that is created in windows explorer and then just drag and drop items from pc to phone and vice versa.
Cheers.

Hi all,
I jus got this phone for a week, and it has been easy.
Too Easy, in fact.
Just that I don’t like some features-"a lacking in controls", compared with my previous phone, a Nokia. So in any case whereby a Nokia users switching to Siemens, you might like to take note on these, as listed:
1 Phonebook
· It has function on copy contacts from SIM card(phonebook), to phone memory(addressbook), but not vice versa-sad case
· You cant “group” your contacts if you are using SIM card memory(phonebook), unless u switch the Default Book to the phone memory(addressbook)-another sad case
· You can only see the contacts by Namelist only, anything more, your have to click on more buttons; unlike Nokia phones which has a choice of how you want your contacts to be shown, e.g. large fonts, namelist or name, number, etc.
2 Call Records
· No issue
3 Surf and Fun
· No issue- I don’t play much games, though it will be good if there are more, preloaded games.
4 Organiser(calendar)
· Some inconvenience, but not a big issue. Too many steps.
5 Messages
· Not a big issue but it could be better, smarter and faster, comparing with Nokia sms.
6 IRDA
· Not really tested yet, just explored briefly, but it doesn’t seem to be of any stronger or easier, if not weaker.
7 Extras
· Alarm clock
i. Good for it enables you to set 3 alarms
· Calculator
i. Lame and primitive as it don’t offer decimal point ability.
8 My Stuff
· Pictures Album
i. No big issue but well, some of the graphics(Gif file) could not be used as Wallpaper, so I wonder what is the use of preloading it.
· Sound Album
i. No big issue. The choices are pretty wide, but not many are appealing melodies.
9 Setup
· Profile
i. Lacking in flexibilities and customized adjustments
· Ringtone
i. As covered, in Sound Album
ii. It offers Ascending Tone ringing, ONLY.
iii. I don’t seem to find a way to switch off, or change the start up melody, whenever u on the mobile phone.
· Display
i. As covered, in Pictures Album
· Call Setup
i. No big issue as it doesn’t off much
· Time/ Date
i. No big issue, normal
· Security
i. No big issue as I don’t fancy playing with security codes of my phone, so no comment.
· Network
i. No big issue, no comment
· Camera
i. It offers a rotating screen, but it doesn’t allow self- taking pics of yourself using that as a viewer. The rotating is just for stylish sake. That rotating function really misled me.

Just got this phone. It`s a real bargin paid £79.99, (it looks about £200.00 worth!) Got it in the Polar White colour, (has attracted a lot of comments from people who have seen it on my desk at work!) I have not had any probs with MMS sending pics, (remember you may need to set that up with your network provider.) Have found it very easy to use. No video or bluetooth feature, but hey it`s £80 quid! Have set it up with my PC & downloaded good quality images from the camera. You should seriously consider this phone!
