Snapdragon 800-packing Galaxy S4 I9506 rocks GFX Bench

10 September, 2013

The Samsung Galaxy S4 I9506 rocking a Snapdragon 800 chipset and Adreno 330 has cropped up again, this time on GFXBench's database and has posted pretty impressive scores. The device is the international version of the E330S Galaxy S4 LTE-A Korean model and is expected to allow those of us outside Samsung's homeland experience the Snapdragon 800/TouchWiz combo.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 I9506 was able to meet the Galaxy Note 3 at the top of the 2.7 T-Rex benchmark outputting 26 frames per second, beating the Sony Xperia Z Ultra by 3 fps and the LG G2 by 4 fps.

In the Egypt 2.5 test the Galaxy S4 I9506 got 50 fps, slightly behind the LG G2 (also a S800 monster) and way behind the Galaxy Note 3, finishing in fourth spot on our list.

We've seen a Galaxy S4 Active with the Snapdragon 800 and Adreno 330, producing very similar results on the T-Rex 2.7 off-screen test (25.9 versus 26) and the very same Galaxy S4 I9506 crushing the AnTuTu boards.

Interestingly the Android version of the Galaxy S4 I9506 is quoted at 4.2.2 but we expect the device to hit official status powered by Android 4.3.
