Works perfectly across the board; even MMC & tethering. My one gripe about this phone is that it has no compass hardware. But yep, it works fine on T-Mobile. It even has the AT&T logo on the back, but from ebay it came unlocked, sealed in box. It's all confusing lol.

I am leaning toward picking up another Sonim device this year; I am hoping for something like an XP9 with FirstNet access (LTE Band 14) since I get a great price on my plan as an EMT/Paramedic.

I wish Sonim would release a phone with a built-in UHF transceiver (or a VHF/UHF, but that's pushing it!), even if it were a special attachment. Like the XPAND connector with an external microphone with an antenna or a retractable or stowable antenna that can screw into the top (think like a stylus on the Note family of phones). Cover 420-520MHz and I would use this thing instead of the stupidly clunky/huge 4 Watt Motorola APX8000 that my FD uses to communicate (on non-trunked analog UHF frequencies! lol)

I got my hopes up when Sonim had that news release about the SLED for their XP8 phone. But that never happened (maybe the microchip economy or COVID-19 messed up their plans?)

A Voice/SMS "feature phone" with advanced, built-in functionality like the Sonim phones is excellent for fieldwork. It's just that people in many fields also have radios with equal or greater functionality (many digital and analog radios can transmit data like APRS (see aprs.fi for a great example)

The whole PTT thing is not unique to this kind of phone; it uses AT&T, Zello, or other apps to send VOIP to other phones through the same band it uses for making phone calls; so if you cannot call someone, you cannot PTT them.
Any phone can use a virtual button on the phone screen in the PTT service's app or a Bluetooth, radio-like microphone while the phone rests securely in the person's pocket, belt clip, or bag.

This phone will get the job done.
I wish the company should extend it's products to africa soon.

In my opinion, Sonim are the best in rugged phone.and this last model show that they can make rugged phone with hi-tec inside, beside off the bad opinions at the others persons
