Sony announces WH-XB910N headphones and WF-C500 earbuds
Sony today announced two new audio products, the WH-XB910N wireless headphones and the WF-C500 truly wireless earbuds. Both will be available for purchase in October.
The WH-XB910N are full-sized circumaural headphones. They are part of Sony's Extra Bass series and are designed for a bass-heavy sound profile.
The WH-XB910N also feature active noise cancellation. While the non 1000X series from Sony usually does not have high quality noise cancellation, it may still be better than nothing.
Other features including support for AAC and LDAC codecs, Adaptive Sound Control for adjusting the level of noise cancellation to your surroundings and locations, gesture controls, Google Assistant and Alexa support, Android Fast Pair and Windows Swift Pair support, 30 hour battery life, foldable design and provided carry case.
The WH-XB910N are priced at £179 and come in two colors, blue and black.
The WF-C500 are meant to be a more affordable pair of earbuds without too many bells and whistles. They feature IPX4 water resistance, AAC support, 10 hours continuous battery life with the charging case providing another 10 hours, and Android Fast Pair and Windows Swift Pair support.
The WF-C500 are priced at £89 and come in four colors, orange, green, white, and black.

As Qualcomm -s aptx licence costs and Apple doesn't support aptx either, Sony dropped aptx support for the new headphones and (Sony) Android users can use Sony -s LDAC.

Interestingly, these don't support AptX or AptX HD. But their predecessor (XB900N) do, in addition to LDAC and AAC. Though the bluetooth version is obviously newer (5.2 vs 4.2) and the 0-100 charge time is twice as fast (3.5 hrs vs 7 hrs).
