I've had this phone for about 2 weeks and I've got to say I love it! It looks great and once you get used to the menu system it's pretty easy to use, although you need two hands at times. The only thing I don't like about this phone is the battery life, it's really not very good but saying that, if you turn off the back light the performance increases A LOT! I owned a nokia 3330 before my Z5. I'd choose my Z5 over the nokia, the only thing I miss is the voice dial but to be honest I never really used that.

There is a really bad echo for the person you're speaking to - they hear their own voice again very clearly. I think it's because the microphone is too close to the speaker. Rather than being at the bottom of the flip, it's at the bottom of the actual phone. Probably the shortest distance between microphone and speaker of all phones?

I think it is a great mobile phone. It is my fourth phone, two Nokia's, a Motorola, and now my Sony Z5. Other phones have a cheep looking case, whereas Sony Z5 has a almost metalic lookin case. Its inners are also great, in making it an altogether excellent phone.

I have owned a Z5 for 6 months during which time I have had to return twice to be repaired. The sound quality is poor and the menu features cumbersome. Battery life is excellent and it does look good. I will probably switch back to Motorola

To be honest, I prefer the J5, it's got all the features [plus ringtone recording, if that's your bag] and is much cheaper. I owned a Z5 for a few days [eBay] but sold it again because for the money, there are better phones. This is a very good alternative to the usual Nokia/Ericsson/Motorolla stuff which everyone has but I still say buy a J5 and spend the difference on something more worthwhile.

I used to think nothing could beat Nokia phones until I got the CMD Z5. By far the sexiest looking phone on the market, fantastic screen and very light. Compare the calculator and scheduler on the Sony with that on the Nokia 8000 series and you'll see how much thought has been put into it. The battery life is shit but I simply stick it on it's desk charger when I get in and ready to go the next day. The other area where this phone scores badly against Nokia's is the lack of easy to download ringtones but I can live with this. I've had Nokia's, Ericson's and Motorolas but I have to say this one tops them all. The MZ5 could have been a challenger but I think it's just too heavy. Anyway, I can't understand why some people are giving the Z5 a hard time. I just love it.

It's almost the perfect phone: Lightweight, solid, jog dial.
But the battery-life is not too long, and the speaker is not really loud:
Pre: Ringtones a-plenty:
http://www.sony-z5.com/
And there is a simple program that converts nokia ringtones

I've been using it for some time and anybody who tells you it sucks is defenetly wrong! Also, it's not ideal, it has some details missing, but it's all compensated with great look and no weight.
Thigs I like the most: design, active flip, great screen with 4 shades of gray, answering machine, POP3 email, great schedule, great phonebook with 500 items space and icon for groups and different ring for every group, details...
Thigs I don't like, but don't care too much:
You have to read email on-line (no download or save option), battery doesn't last too much (2.5 days for me)
Advice: Sony had a lot of software upgrades, many bugs were corrected, so check and make sure your phone has latest software (6.4.7). Code for this is: *#release# Many of the problems people talk about does not exist in latest versions
