Ritwik, 23 Oct 2009Arak, what do you think about the comments given below by m... moreyou are right , i have been discusing the same issue with our local sony ericsson manager , and he stated that they have already passed messages to sony ericsson regional office to make sony ericsson stop announcing pohones that will be released after 9 months , since what is the use ? like satio and aino it took 9 months to be released and still there are bugs in it .
but let me tell you that all mobile phones that newly released have the same problems , so from the engineering point of view i recommend people not to rush and purchase new electronic gadgets when they are newly released ,, wait for at least 3 to 4 months when new firmwares and in hand and plus the prices are slashed by the companies ,,,

Anonymous, 22 Oct 2009in my experience the very first batch tends to be sim free ... moreI agree with you and actually i was intending to write about it ,
the free phones (unlockedphones) have less problems than the locked ones , since the telecommunication companies play with the software and make it buggy and usless sometimes ..
i had many sony ericsson phones and mostly were ok to me

I guess to sum up my experience, and keeping in mind that any negative feedback should be addressed with a firmware update, if you're like me and don't care about PDAs, Blackberrys, IPhones, smartphones, etc., then this is the best Sony Ericsson phone yet.

if you are using your phone hardly today and you still got 1/2 the battery then it may be a good sign that the battery is good, i hope so.
by the way my old phone Z 520 can play mp3 as alarm tone so i think all SE phones can do that.
i wish that all my previous opinions are wrong because i like this phone and hope it will be good phone to buy.
thanks

Battery life is not good. This and other things I'm sure will be fixed in a firmware update. I can't wait to see what will be changed/fixed.
I don't even use half the features this phone has and still at the end of the day I only have about ½ battery left.
I have found something very strange about this phone! It cannot use MP3s for alarm tones. To my knowledge this is the only Sony phone like that. It lets you choose an MP3 for the alarm, but plays a default ringtone instead.

Aino before, 23 Oct 2009i agree totally with you.
i don't understand what is the p... moreYup.. Seems like SE needs to hire new people in its marketing department.. Don't announce something that you can't deliver on time.. And that too, in an unstable condition.. Bad work SE.. :(
GSMArena, what will take for you to review this phone? People have been requesting you again and again.. For SE's sake, PLEASE review the phone!!!!

Ritwik, 23 Oct 2009That is the only reasonable strategy they can have.. And yu... morei agree totally with you.
i don't understand what is the point of announcing a device like satio at january and releasing it on October
has any1 asked SE to announce anything? we only need that you announce something after you finished it completely including stable firmware and after less than 1 month to be on the market.
also what is the point of releasing Aino in unstable firmware now?, has any 1 also aksed you to release it now?
release it when it is stable even after 2 months.
is it now good news for SE lovers to know that Aino firmware isn't stable. what SE has benefited from that?
they are going to lose even their lovers, and if Aino stayed on the market without firmware update for one more month Aino will lose its reputation for the incoming months. it will be listed in the bad list in people emotions and brains.
so wake up SE before you fall completely.
Gsmarena please the review does it need all that time to come up with a mobile review
thank you

aino before, 22 Oct 2009i assume that is the ongoing strategy by SE .
W 995 hasn't... moreThat is the only reasonable strategy they can have.. And yup, it's definitely good business to sell one phone at high price till its demand drops, then present the market with a phone with higher features and specs and stable firmware so that the demand for that phone increases and the company can have a stable selling profit index.. This way, SE can reduce the losses they have been incurring over the past few financial quarters..
Thinking strategically, it is not possible that the Aino won't have a major firmware update as it is the only way this product will be a hit among the masses.. All the work in R&D and construction of this model will be wasted.. And surely, SE won't let it happen.. Especially since they have already incurred such huge losses previously.. So the only logical step for now would be to release a good firmware update for Aino around 3 months from now, somewhere around in Jan 2010..
