So why do companies manufacture Digital Cam. Camcorders, walkmans, ipods, iphone, Mp3 players, ipod touch, memory cards, External Hard disk, plasma, LCD, Laptops, desktops, GPS (even though it's available as an option for the car)...etc while they can make it in one place (nothing is perfect even the iphone which had so much hype got 2 Mp cam. C'mon ....Why? Costs
VAIO laptop ... has a Hard disk, Motioneye, plays DVDs, blu rays, music, games support SD, m2, memory tick duo...etc
which lead us to what's the point of getting a PS3, 360, psp, Wii. while u can play games/watch movies/store digital data on ur laptop/desktop.
Maybe u like to have a desktop and not a laptop that's why they do both (right?) Maybe u wanna watch a BD on ur TV and not ur laptop/desktop.
Ppl are different that's why you find all these things around. Plus i remember watching apple keynote last June and they were making fun of Nokia N95 on how it displays webpages though iphone got a 2MP?? Each phone has it psotive and negative sides. But for me I like the Cam. DLNA (which goes along with my PS3/LCD)& browsing so i really dont care about Video quality but maybe u do.

I can see that some ... moreBut most people don't want to carry around their camcorders everywhere. I could just as well say what's the point of an 8MP phone if you can just take your digital camera around.
In 2008, top of the range phones like this should have better than QVGA video. All the other major manufacturers do.

I just can't wait for this gr8 phone.
I can see that some ppl in here are just being negative and i think it's time for them to get the hell out of here/move on with their lives cause it looks like they won't be able to purchase this phone as they're stcuk with the video Quality ??? Lamo
Xperia X1 resolution is 800x600 not good enough ... get yourself a laptop to sort things out.
ppl are different so I've got a sony HD camcorder Full HD 1080p (10x optical zoom) which does the job along with my 40 inch Full HD LCD and my good old PS3.
Video resolution/quality on a mobile phone c'mon... i wouldn't care less

QVGA is just Quarter VGA, 320x240 resolution and thats all. Its not rocket science..

ha ha sony ericsson there will be no more. Sony are considering to drop the company ericsson lol due to a huge loss in profit. so looks like no more sony ericsson handsets soon lol.
