Se c905 is a faulty designed mobile toy.
1 main board design, some components poorly soldered, as z1200 filter, and the system connector.
2 mechanical :the flip hinge mechanism get loose or stick, stop sliding, or start moving to side cutting the call.Keypad is poor as well.
3 sw problems, snapfish error, no network, use sony ericsson battery,
4 pba flex fault no earpiece
5 camera problem
Its nice to buy it if you want to pay a lot of money for a piece of good looking plastic, witch will spend lot of time in service centers for repair.

I have been on these threads for afew years now, after awhile you get to where you can spot some of the ones that are true phone owners and the ones just trying to spread crap.

I have a W810i and it has worked perfectly for me, since I used it with the Program you mentioned, my battery went beserk and it is always saying low battery even when it is full. So you might be right about the software, pity because it is really a great tool!

I've been using my SE C905 for about 3 months now. Let me start off by saying that the camera on this phone is great, but there are other more reliable phones.

On the first day I got the C905, I knew I was taking a gamble since I had read bad reviews and malfunctions. It got me very worried when I found it rebooting repeatedly by itself after I was playing around with its functions and getting used to my phone. Luckily, it stopped rebooting after awhile by itself.

The camera is great, without a doubt. A bit too many features, but what's there is good. However, the zoom is just ridiculously bad. It gets very blurry and totally loses focus when one zooms in to take a picture. I avoid using it at all times.

A recurring thing about this phone is that it hangs and lags at times, particularly when I add a new contact or edit contact info. No idea why, since it's a very basic function, but it will hang. It's a piss-off, but you get used to it.

So far, earpiece is still functioning. I've read about people's earpieces breaking within 3 to 6 months or so of use, but I'm sure hoping I'm a lucky one. I have started to notice some of my calls getting choppy, but I don't know if that had to do with the reception or the phone. I hope it wasn't the phone.

Overall, the phone is maybe a 7/10. It's a solid phone, but all its points are lost from the simple things that could have been easily fixed to make this a perfect slider cameraphone.

I can't say how much people try to bash SE's other phones because I never pay them much attention. Although, I do catch fans of other brands trying to throw dirt on the SE name. Regardless, all I'm saying is that some of the complaints about this particular model come from the SE faithful. Keep that in mind when you're criticizing people who are just giving honest feedback on these forums.

Aidan C, 16 Oct 2009This is the worst Sony Ericsson phone I have ever had. (I h... moreWell lets see..........
-'The battery life is very poor.....' Have you tried to see what is running on your phone that does not need to be running? For example; Wi-Fi, a-GPS, BlueTooth......?? Try letting it go totaly dead, then charge it.

-'The microphone is bad - people can't hear you very well......' How far are you holding the phone from your mouth when you are talking? Have you checked your profiles on the phone??

-'The GPS doesn't work on mine.....' From the glossery at the bottom of the page. '
Assisted GPS (A-GPS) is used to speed up start-up times of GPS-based positioning systems. GPS may have problems getting a lock when the signal is weak and in such a case A-GPS would assist in getting a lock.

This, however, is achieved by the use of an Assistance Server, so a data connection is required and charges may apply for the data transfer.' How long do you wait for it to get a lock? I have heard of other people on other phones having to wait more than 10 mins. to get a lock.

-'There are security certificate issues which has made it impossible for me to use the Gmail client.....' Sounds as if Vodafone has done something to it when they installed their programs. You need to call them to fix it...then again you could try to update your phone also.

-'The camera shutter is manual so you can easily leave it open unintentionally.....' Be glad that you have a cover for your phone, most dont, and get scratched....and it sounds as if you need to try and remember to put it back in place. Remember this is not a plain camera.

-'The keyboard is flaky and there have been some changes to the T9 capabilities which are frustrating if you are upgrading from another Sony Ericsson phone.....' You should have seen me when I got got my first phone with T9, I hated it, now I cant do with out it. I know sometimes change is hard....but sometimes it is for the better.
But all in all, it sounds like most of your problems is your personal opinion and not the phone. There is phones I will not touch after trying them, but that is just me, and not the phone.
                          :-)

Former C905 owner, 17 Oct 2009Sorry guy, but the complaints about this phone are legit. ... moreROTFLMAO!!
                            You are indeed funny.
I am not saying that you will never get a bad phone, but as many people that is on here complaining is a crock!! I have even been on other Sony threads and found out that most are indeed there just to stir up crap. I have had 5 different Sony phones, as well as my wife having the same ones, and in all that time have only had one bad phone. All the while people were complaining on these threads how bad they were.
                            LOL!!!What a joke!
Now that being said, do you think that Sony would even still be making phones if they were that bad? No company would. But yet Sony is still make phones, and what are they the WORLD..... 3rd or 4th manufacturer? How do you realy think they got there?

Direwolf_65, 15 Oct 2009Do you really have this phone? If you do, where did you buy... moreSorry guy, but the complaints about this phone are legit. I read about this phone for months before I decided to buy. Screen malfunctions, earpiece issues, button difficulties, and every other negative you read about on this opinion board. Some people seem to get a handset with any number of these issues, some people get a phone that doesn't have any problems. I took a gamble and bought it hoping I would get one with no issues.

                              Too bad for me.

Within 1 week, no drops, no bangs, no scratches, my screen went out. I got the handset with very stiff buttons that didn't always recognize presses.

                              I sent it back.

Just because you don't have any problems with your handset doesn't mean everybody else is abusing theirs. That comment is getting really old and annoying. You don't think that people know how to take care of a phone? You think people just want to bash SE? Most C905 buyers are former SE owners who just wanted a great SE phone. I owned three before the C905. I'm back using my K750, but will buy another SE soon.

1 faulty SE model doesn't make the company untrustworthy and I understand that. Don't take legitimate criticism of the C905 as an insult just because you didn't have the same experience.

This is the worst Sony Ericsson phone I have ever had. (I have had quite a few over the past 6 years).

I got a c905 around 3 months ago on the Vodafone network and I am looking forward to changing it. Here are my complaints:

The battery life is very poor.

The microphone is bad - people can't hear you very well.

The GPS doesn't work on mine.

There are security certificate issues which has made it impossible for me to use the Gmail client.

The camera shutter is manual so you can easily leave it open unintentionally.

The keyboard is flaky and there have been some changes to the T9 capabilities which are frustrating if you are upgrading from another Sony Ericsson phone.

I would definitely not recommend this phone to anyone.

                                    Aidan
