Ajay, 04 Sep 2010I bought this phone 3 days back only due to its unique desi... morenowhere even near 2mp? you must be joking or you are not using the camera properly, just look at the sample photos at gsmarena and also the hundreds of great photos at esato.
And also for additional information, most people do not understand what megapixel is, megapixel is the PICTURE SIZE, not the PICTURE QUALITY, no matter how many megapixels there is, its the image processing algorithm as well as the camera lens and sensor that is responsible for image quality.
HIGHER MEGAPIXELS DOES NOT MEAN BETTER PICTURE. A lot of people gets sales talked when it comes to megapixels.

I bought this phone 3 days back only due to its unique design & camera features. i am shocked to see the results of camera which is nowhere even near to 2MP. phone design is satisfactory but the plastic used is horrible which gives it very cheap look. Phone software is good, speed is fine. This phone is only worth 5000 rs in India.

Of course the k800i will still perform way better in lowlight due to its xenon flash, Elm/Hazel only has LED flash.
Like I said Elm/Hazel is great at daylight photos. Lowlight photos are bad, and yes it produces these quite annoying lines, they can be reduced though by setting the camera to a lower EV or setting the camera to twilight

@ Dan
@ anonymous
where did both of you get that information. I would say that is wrong, It's more of backwards actually, the smaller the number of f/2.6 (aperture size) the faster the shutter speed should be to prevent overexposure but it also affect the depth of field, and there are extremely a lot of factors such as ISO settings, shutter speed and of course the cameradriver itself which processes the image captured by the image sensor.
@ dan
"5mp res. with a smaller lens than k750i lens with 2mp rest. I think will make a noise" WTF?? where did you learn that?? a lower ISO will produce darker images, a higher ISO produces brighter images, so what is it's importance?
Higher ISO = more film grain
Lower ISO = less film grain
Higher ISO = Faster shutter speed
Lower ISO = Slower shutter speed
Slower shutter speed = more blur unles you're extremely steady.
Faster shutter speed = less chance of motion blur.
as you can see, Elm and Hazel most of the time uses ISO 40 (very low ISO) on daylight conditions, this is good as it produces true high quality photos on daylight photos. In night shots it uses higher ISO unless set to twilight, the night shots being horrible is more of the issue with the cameradriver rather than the camera itself.
this is the image sensor of Elm and Hazel READ IT!

rocker, 03 Sep 2010yeah may be this could be the problem but now nothing can b... morelol, you again, I don't get it what is your basis of saying that Elm and Hazel are terrible phones? just because of night camera shots for a phone that is incredibly cheap for it's feature set you complain too much. if you want superb camera quality then don't be cheap, buy a super high end cameraphone instead, sheesh.
Switch to nokia? if you are a Nokia fanboy then don't go posting here that SE is terrible and makes crap phones.

rocker, 02 Sep 2010no it's not out of reality but its not also complete realit... moreOk, so now I knew what your judged from the camera was based on night or poor lightning shoot, and you found it's just fine at bright light situations.
I concur with you on this. Why can't take good results with elm or hazel's camera. Then I learned something about sensor size and lens size. My conclusion is (not 100 sure) elm and hazel use smaller sensor and lens compare with others - eg k750, n95, 6700 etc.
What the impact of using smaller lens and sensor? That is the strong points of this phone: very good result of taking macro photos, close up scene and rich and natural color in daylight shooting, but gives you bad bad and poor results at poor light condition, because the small sensor suffers to manage proper shuter speed (you can check the photo properties / EXIF data) in order for sensor to catch more light in the night. If you noticed that there is no night mode features (they just gave twilight scenarios) coz when using autofocus it's not effective in light gathering.
And the best joke is the flash only works when taking macro photos such as documents when you slip into your headmaster's office in the middle of the night!

anyasagara, 02 Sep 2010I buy Elm on 29 August 2010.
I bought a 4GB memory card. I... moreTry with 1gb or less capacity of memory card, whether your phone can read the card properly or not, if yes then re-format that 4gb card - make sure to format it to FAT32 files format.
If the phone still unable to save photos into the < 1gb card, maybe it has factory defect..

I buy Elm on 29 August 2010.
I bought a 4GB memory card. I can managed to transfer some files from PC to Elm via a data cable (from my previous cellphone - K810).
I tried to take pictures from the camera, SAVING, then FREEZEZ for 5-10 seconds. I checked in File Manager - memory card is not detected. I turn off the phone, then turned it on again, then a memory card is detected. But the pictures that I took were not saved / not there.
I tried again to take pictures using the camera, but did not succeed and the same thing happens repeatedly. I replace it with a 2GB memory card, but same thing happens.
And so far I have not been able to save even one picture from the camera. I can take pictures using the camera if slot of the memory card was empty.
Please give us a solution for my MAIN problem mentioned above and also the problem below,
I click the icon to Facebook (and Twitter) are not functioning, there is only the inscription: Service not available. After using the default application (though not successfully) - always just return the memory card is not detected.
Facebook and Twitter can only be accessed via the Internet icon (Explorer) - from the main menu, and memory card IS STILL detected well.
Date 1 September 2010 i download and install Update Service, but apparently NO software update for the ELM.
