      I have used this phone for about half an year and the first thing I wanna tell you all is that signal sucks.If you buy this phone you will see all five signal bars full just in areas very well covered.It's some kind of "city phone",not the one which could help you in the mountains or even just out of the city.I don't understand why is so fu__ing unstable...But if this don't bothers you,Elm is a good endowed phone,even too smart for its price,so yes,it has also many good qualities,I just wanted to say what's good and what's bad about it.

                  I am looking forward if SE makes Android phone that half-touch screen and half numeral keypad (like nokia c3-01 or SE Aino) that replace this good phone.

                    nv, 17 Apr 2011hey guys!! im planing to buy a se elm within this week ...n... moreIf light conditions are too bad, no settings will help a camera except a powerful flash....having said that, let me tell you more about Elm's camera.

                    Yes, Elm also has the low-light mode that makes use of increased exposure time and which is also called night mode in some phones. But in the elm, it is named more sensibly 'Twilight mode'. There are a total of 8 scene settings which are the following;

                    1. Automatic- focus and flash can be set to your choice.
                    2. Landscape- meant for scenes and sceneries(at some distance) rather than photos of men. On selecting this scene, the focus will be automatically set to "infinite" and the flash will be 'off'

                    3. Twilight Landscape- As said earlier, it is for low light conditions. In addition to the above said properties for 'Landscape', this scene uses long exposure for improving low light photos.

                    4. Portrait- intended for snaps of persons. As it is said, this has settings for automatic red eye reduction, emphasis on skin tones and a slightly softer appearance. Focus will be preset to 'face detection' and flash will be in the automatic mode.

                    5. Twilight Portrait- the difference with '4.portrait' scene is, longer exposure for low light and the difference with '3.Twilight Landscape' is that focus will be 'Face Detection' and flash will be on(Auto)

                    6.Beach/Snow- this can be used for extremely bright environments to avoid over-exposed photos.

                    7. Sports- This is suitable for snaps of moving objects. This is opposite to the twilight mode. This makes use of SHORTER exposure time to minimize motion blurring.
                    (In both the above scenes, focus will be preset to 'auto focus')
                    Elm's camera has more features like smile detection.. enough features generally expected from a 5mp camera phone. Quality is above average. If You wisely make use of the settings and features, good results can be achieved. For example, in the twilight modes, hand should be held still to avoid blurring due to longer exposure time. One way to do this is to set the self-timer to say, 2seconds which help you keep the hands steady after pressing the button and till the saving is complete. Another instance, sometimes in 'sports' scene, the colour appears a bit pale, may be due to shorter exposure. Here, setting the white balance to 'daylight' or 'cloudy' can make it more colourful.

                    One minus(if it can be called so) of Elm's camera which I have observed is that it fails to catch exactly, some rare colours as it is.. not always.

                    The first press of the camera button will set the focus and full press will take the photo.

                            hey guys!! im planing to buy a se elm within this week ...n i need sum advice about its camera performance in low-light conditions.. i've used many nokias(not owned by me to b xact.. but tried it frm frnds n fam members) n im currently using samsung shark,which has a very very immpressive 3.2mp cam... d gud thing abt it is that it can produce satisfying pics even in low light even thouugh it doesnt hav a flash....it does this by decreasing the shutter speed(takes almost 1-2 secs to take a pic!!!) to take more light in ...however its only useful for completely stilll images!! compared to this .. most nokias give pretty bad low light images cuz they dont mess much with the shutter speed.... but can handle a little bit of movement compared to my samsung..can anyone please tell me how the se elm performs under low-light conditions???? please!!!..(i've checked out d images in the review .. but im not really convinced). i've never used a sony b4.. but wanted to try out 1 since a long time... n i guess elm is d perfect 1 to start out with !!
