I m using this K850i since Feb-2008, For me its ofcourse a perfect phone. I got everything which I want from a phone, like cam, music player, storage, even a torch. I m indeed handicap without my phone now as I felt its a kind of body organ.
As, friends lately it stops working, display disappear while typing the message or putting any text into it. I have contacted the service station here in Surat lets see I hope for the best.
One thing I m not able to understand that though the display disappear suddenly but when it comes back the input text is as it is. If any problem with battery, I believe the input text should also disappear.
God help me, I cant walk without my k850 and this phone now troubles me alot.
Kindly give me your valuable suggestion to keep my phone intact. I know about reset all and master resetting.
Your kind tips please.

Glad to see the fighting is over. So has anyone else modded their K850? Who managed to get it to record video at 352x288 30fps? I just cant get mine to.

why this k 850i restrart itself?
is it normal for a phone or is it something wrong with the software???????

Anonymous, 18 Feb 2009had this phone for 15 months right now... no problem with t... moreI actually text alot and the buttons are fine. It took a couple hours of adjusting to but then its good. Even though the buttons are small its still soft to press.

had this phone for 15 months right now... no problem with the phone at all.. very cool bottom touch screen and the brilliant camera!!! for those people who doesnt text much, its highly recommended as the buttons are fairly small... i meant really SMALL.. wasnt think to swap this phone to any other one else!! good work SonyE!!

Emily, 17 Feb 2009I've had 4 of these in a matter of 10 months. All crashed ... morewell as u said most of the people dont face that much trouble with the k850i i can recommend this phone to anyone who wants one of the best 5mp cameras with xeneon flahser and 3 led flasher , this phone is simple to use so many options but the best thing about it is the cam with autofocus and automatic shutter plus the motion sensor , as u said u changed it 4 times during a period of 4 months . my s.e. dealer said that this is the only phone model that he brought as 3 sets in 3 different colors in less that 3 months and he still use the 3 k850i's without any problems at all . and hes loving the k850i everything about it . the last time my phone crashed is two weeks ago it suddenly restarted thats all . the truth is every phone model (specially nokia) suffers from terrible restarting problems . so this is the nature of the phones . but restarting problems have never been so bad as for u for me . maybe u brought contract phones which are always giving trouble as i know due to firmware changes and other faults .

Hello, I have this K850 phone, and I like it, but there are numerous problems with it.
But forget that, can anyone please tell me if I can reset the smart search on it. I don't want the suggestion of people I have already called to come up every time I enter an unsaved number.

Anonymous, 17 Feb 2009Where did u install them? In the phone or on the memory stick?I figured out the problem. I thought I installed it onto my phone but it was installed on the memory card. I formatted the mem. card but it still showed the games on there but they just didnt work. I re-installed everything and now it works fine.

I've had 4 of these in a matter of 10 months.
All crashed several times, then crashed for the last time. They have a problem with the firmware.
No matter how many times you update it from your PC, it will keep crashing. This phone has been taken off all major phone companies markets in the UK because the problem was so big that they had to start offering other phones out to the customers.
I currently have the C902, which has the same problem with firmware, but it doesn't crash as much. I've had this 4 months now and am hoping it can last until my LG Renoir arrives.
Stay away from to K850i!
