K850 phone lock is always on, how do you get rid of this. I don't want this phone to have phone lock. When I try to use it, I always have to press *, then unlock, it's pain in the butt. Anyone can enlighten me please >_<

Direwolf_65, 25 Aug 2008ROTFLMAO!!!!!!! Why does Nokia need 2 jacks? In case you ... moredust or water? do you live in a lake/pompei?

having a 3.5mm jack is one of the most useful things ever. imagine having an ipod needing an adapter. that would be horrible.

Direwolf_65, 26 Aug 2008It is very nice to see someone honest, there seems to be on... moreI understand you want this phone badly, you are even saving up for it, i love my K850, its a realy cool phone, it definetly gives that WOW factor. But its instability can get on my nerves. You say people arent telling you the truth? More like they arent saying what you want to hear. If you can get an unbranded K850 with latest firmware then go for it. Im here to just warn you, i mean after all you will be spending your hard earned cash, now imagine you spend it all on a phone thats unstable, and faulty. I dont think you'd want that. Id never go for a C902 though, it doesnt have the 'cool' factor like the K850.

                  Hi

I bought the phone 2 wks ago, I was so happy as it was able to take pics in the dark n even improve them while others failed. 3 days l8er the screen started to freeze and on Monday it just shut down. I am SOO disappointed and that my sp said that I have to wait 6 wks before I get it back and after reading your views I am scared that when it does come back it will still give me trouble. I like the phone bt I dont want something that will always be going 4 repairs should i keep it? n if so how can iuse my handset effeciently?

johndru, 26 Aug 2008let yourself experience it for yourself.. everything is jus... moreIt is very nice to see someone honest, there seems to be only a few people here that have it in them to do so.

                    Johndru,
I have had 4 people tell me that the phone is worth buying, and I am saving for it. That is if my carrier does not pick up the C905.I know of one poster, I forgot there name (Sorry), that has dropped their phone a few times and it still works great. Everybody tells me that it will stand up to heavy use. I have a family and like to take pic's. What do you think? Are you happy with the phone? Would you suggest to other people that it is a good buy?

redbull, 26 Aug 2008I have been eyeing the K850 for a long time, and did lots o... morelet yourself experience it for yourself.. everything is just half-truth.
all phones crashes from time to time. it's not just k850.

the 3 heat-sensors are really great. you should just know HOW to touch them properly. some people press on them like it's a keypad. just go mild on them.

with regards to the other problems, i really don't have an idea why MY k850i haven't experienced those stories.

well, if you like c902 better, then go for it. but i have to tell you XENON FLASH is a MUST on mobile phones given that mobile phones do have inferior camera lens as compared to any digicams. (siempre!)lolz

I have been eyeing the K850 for a long time, and did lots of research on it. Take it from me.

First, I bought the K850 for a friend, tested it for a week, no problem.

but after i gave it to my friend, a month later, the phone crashed. it just switches itself off automatically every now and then.
My friend had to bring it to the service centre for an upgrade.

The service centre staff told her that she's probably the 100th customer with that same problem. They upgraded the software for her, and the phone's now fine.

Sceptical by now, i did some research, including speaking to phone shop vendors; they deal with mobile phones everyday (and hear the most complaints and feedback, so trust them to know what they are saying.)

This phone vendor advised me to get the C902 instead. she said she personally got a K850, but experienced lots of software problems. The camera also failed to launch on several occasions. She also got similar feedback from her customers.

i spoke to another friend who had the K850 for 3 months. she said that the 3 sensor buttons on the screen get too sensitive at times, and other times, it's numb.

lastly, i did my own research online. and the comments on K850 are not favourable.

my final conclusion: ive decided not to buy the K850. I will go for the C902 instead.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970Well you just showed me just how much you know about Sony phones. First of all I looked at a pic of the hpm-82, and just like all of the other's, you disconnect it ABOVE the mic, and there is you 3.5 jack.
                                DDDuuHHH!!!!
Now lets be real for a moment, how long do you think that people will keep up with there little 'plugs', before they lose them? not long I am sure.
I have had the W600, W810, W710 and the W580, and have never had the problems that you have listed. I dont know what you do to you phones, but it is not good.
Why do I need a bigger screen for? I can see just fine.........when was the last time you had your eye's check?
As for HSDPA......if I want to surf the internet I will do it on my PC. I have better things to do then to be on the net THAT much.

Direwolf_65, 26 Aug 2008Childish? I don't think so. I did it to prove a point. As ... moreWell SE could put little lids on their 3.5mm jacks, then nothing would get in when not in use. The standard headphones that come with the K850 (hpm-82) don't even have a 3.5mm jack either lol!
I cannot believe there are people who believe SE dont need these 3.5 jacks. After a year of use the the SE standard port gets dirty and sometimes rejects headphones and the charger. Thats another thing SE need, its a seperate USB port, they need a MicroUSB port, not this terrible port. I love my K850 but SE are making a big mistake by leaving these things out thanx to id1otic customers who are such fanboys that they think the standard SE port is good. Next you will say SE symbian phones dont need bigger screens or HSDPA.

As far as Sony goes, I still say they dont need it, since they have one in the 'hands free', and it is one less place to let stuff in your phone.

SE phones are in need of 3.5mm jacks. The standard headphones and charger ports are so unpractical and clumsy. The connectors that get connected to the port are even worse. They're big and ancient, k700 had this. Ever connected your headphones to your K850 the connected charger? It resembles a crowded wall plug point.
