i understand peoples thing about only having qvga video recordnig because anything higher wont be an improvement on the screen, yes that makes sense

but i like actually removing the videos off of my n95 and putting them onto the computer, likewise photos.

so i dont think SE can really keep doing that.

if everyone followed SE's philospohy, proper digital cameras would just be limited by qvga videos and VGA cameras!

anyway guys, ive seen both cameras for real, no comparison. just get SE to sort out the software.

look what the g600 can do with a tiny lens, why cant the k850 match it?

vga resolution in video doesn't dwell in the screen of the phone. probably you'll hear nick saying "vga is good in tv screens! or monitors!"

i think its realy time for SE to switch to vga resolution in video.

yes its loud.louder than my k800i i suppose.
but i heard the speakers of w890 and its louder than k850 and take note, the speakers in w890 is quite smaller than the speakers of k850,that is in terms of the holes you see in the back casing

I have posted earlier about K850i about software problems and frequent shut downs.
I almost changed 6 pieces till now because of defective pieces. The unit just shuts down and cannot switch off the phone. I gave complaint to local dealer and sony ericsson sales person. Local dealer was curteous and he changed 5 pieces & all of them had same problems. Ultimately they gave a final unit saying that it came directly from swiss and this unit should function well. It was OK for few weeks and then again same problems. I don't know how many people are suffering becuase of these issues. I feel sony ericsson should recall K850 i pieces. I feel there are serious technical issues with it. I have seen lots of people complaining about these issues on the websites. For me atleast sony ericsson has never replied officially and they just ignored my complaint. In my country consumer forums are not that effective. Hence i feel sony ericsson is least bothered.

Of course the possibility making better videos with VGA resolution is higher compared to QVGA.

There's must be a reason why SE keeps on minimizing their video resolution. And I really do believe it has something to do with the screen.

qvga screens have more 'jaggies' compared to vga. vga screens are 'smoother' bec. it has 4x more res than qvga so viewing 'stuff' on it would seem 'nicer'.

but stuff like that is a bit hard to notice on a 2"-2.4" screen.

whole 'nother story when viewed on a vga screen though.

                      I also like their feature video that sings something like;
"The magical mystery toy is waiting to take you away."

nick is actually right abt the whole qvga/vga deal. thats why its called a Q(uarter)vga bec. its only a fourth(1/4) of the resolution of a vga screen.

you have to 'multiply' qvga res. height AND width BOTH by 2 and since youre multiplying 'both' TWICE(2x2=4) hence, the quarter.

he's right abt 'that'. everything else he says is a whole 'nother story, though.

Where I work low-end phones are most popular... Working in an airport people always forget their phones (I don't understand how someone could be so silly but whatever) So they buy the cheapest phone as a throw away type thing. Also older people afraid of technology who just want to be able to call their family.

IMO there should be more cheap handsets with minimal features... Most people use their phones for talking, texting and maybe photos
