This phone is awesome but N82 beats it in camera wise. the N82 is far superior to this k850i. n82 has been awarded the best camera phone this year and has been on gadget show as the best device and they compared it to the k850i n demolishes the k850i.

btw people say dual led is better but belive me even a 4x LED wont be powerful compared to the Xeon Flash in both K850i and N82. my P1i has got Dual LED Flash and the K850i flash n n82 flash is 10x times better at capturing images in da dark.

@steven, dont get the N96. Wait for sonyericsson, they will make things better. I have strayed from sonyericsson to N95, to Tilt. When I came back to K850i from W800, then to N95, then to Tilt and even having the K790i. I realized that as far as everyday functionability, sonyericsson is far better. Sure they did'nt do such a good job on the K850i picture aspect, but everything else to me is spot on. I used the nokia 7610 and N95 and the functionabilty is very boring. Good phones, but not like sonyericsson. Thanx, eddie

        @ nick

Xenon Flash makes the picture BETTER!

as i said in my earlier post LED Flash is Weaker...then Xenon Flash

so i dont know what your talking about nick.

if K850i has a Stronger Flash then N95.
        then N95 cant win.

K850i has better Macro Mode then N95.

The Autofocus is Stronger and faster on K850i.

the Cyber-Shot V2.0 UI is faster on K850i then N95's UI

The Lense is Protected more on the K850i.

K850i has more options in the Cyber-Shot UI then the N95.

K850i has PhotoDJ to tweak the image for Fun!.

My only sony ericsson prior to owning this K850i, was the W800. In comparison, as soon as I got the K850i, I realized what I missed about the W800. But as far as the camera, I don't understand it. I can use it and chage settings to make a picture turn out ok, but the quality does not make sense. For instance the zenon flash fighting the lights in a mall and turning the pic black or when viewing the pics it starts out good but then adds this wierd haze ove the pic. For one instance I took pics of my new house being built and when I viewed them the originall was good but as soon as I view it, it will add this haze and make it look worse. But that haze makes some pics look better. Is there a solution to this, can anybody help me with this? The zenon flash in the dark works great. Oh and I am sorry, I did own the K790 for about 15 days. From what I do remember It worked well, point, shoot, good pics????? Please someone help me, thanx, eddie

I love SE Phones, but this one is doing my box in!

I had the K800 and I can honestly say it was the best phone I ever had! After getting this K850 I don't think I will ever go back to SE! So Many Problems with this Phone!

I hate to say it, but I may even go to the Nokia N96!

            Shame!

i know, its all good having a xenon flash, but the picture quality is awful when it's used.

dani, you've never taken a photo on an n95 and a k850 and put them on a computer, because on the computer, the n95 blows the k850 away.

and btw, i dont rate having "carl zeiss" written on my phone, the fact of the matter is, the n95 lens is better than the k850 one which makes a difference. and yes the k850 has a blue tinge.

putting in a UV filter isnt cheating, its common sense

Why when using the flash indoors like the forum shops does the flash work against the phone? If you're not familiar with the forum shops it looks dim inside but with lights. I was able to get clear shots but without flash. What I don't understand when someone takes a normal camera shot and uses zenon flash it helps it but with this one it works against it? Also why when you view pics on the K850i, the pic is clear and then it puts this haze over the pic? Can this be taken off? I would appreciate some help with this phone. Thanx, eddie

And i bought SE sterio headset for this phone but the base reflection is not clear!!! Does the headset not com[itable? Plz guys help me out. I'm very confused specially with the photo thing!!!!

@sandy. I use my phone constantly with no problems, besides you also said the slider affects the display and the sound? The speakers have nothing to do with the slider! I've never read anyone having this problem with the display or sound because of the slider in the n95 forum!

                        @ nick, nseries

Having a Bigger Lense doesnt mean Quality as such.

SE W880i the slimmest phone around has a 2MP Camera and yet the Quality of the picture still amazes me.

same is the case with K850i, it might have a slightly smaller Lense, but the QUALITY is still There.

Sony have the Quality and they always have it...even the Lense is small of Big its always there.

Thats why SE K850i has the Best 5MP Camera in a phone.

for Video recording its Good it has Quality and Smooth Playback.

N95 uses Carl Ziess Lenses anyway..Sony Uses them in their Standalone Cyber-Shot Range......

                        @ sandy

Then why is there no carl zeiss lens in the k850 and if nokia is using technology from sony, then why only until now se could not come up with a phone to match the n95. The p5 or the xperia are the only ones! Besides sony makes separate cameras so they should be way ahead of nokia in terms of camera phones but they are not!

                            @nseries

you must be knowing the lens optics used by nokia (carl zeus) is propritary lens for Sony 's glorified cybershot series.check ur N95 for lens name wrriten on it. this means nokia is using technology used by sony many years back.

By the way thanks Dani for ur support

@sandy. I've never had a problem with my slider on my n95 and I've had it for almost a year now. It's a superior phone to the k850!

i just went outside to test all of the phones... im bored. i just notices that nokia (and old n73) has a uv filter that pops up over the lens. maybe thats how it cheats to get rid of the uv flare we all see. testing my lg viewty it has a purple flare that shows up really faint. does anyone have a n95 or similar phone to see if the filter is there. to test it just point the lens toward the sky while looking in to the lens. you would see a little flap hide the lens then cover it with your hand and the flap should disappear. see if anyone out there is as bored as i am

dani i know the k850 is far better at night and having a xenon flash does help the k850 as a cameraphone,

but the fact of the matter is, in daylight (which is 98% of your photos), the n95 absolutely kills.thats when having a larger lens really coutns. the n95's lens is .42mm bigger which is big in the camera world.

and the photos definitely do have a blue tinge (thanks to the guy below me for confirming that).

no it a k850. we were taking a class photo. we took one on my n95 (which came out fine), one on a k850 (which was all blurred and had some weird blue tinge) and on a digi camera (which i never saw).

the blue tinge comes from the camera optics. i see it on my pictures as well, especially in bright light. im not sure if it is the actual lens that is used or the the plastic window on the back. i really wish sony would use better optics like my nokia and my lg cause i really love this phone but i end up only carrying it at night :(
