its all in the setting if u want m0re brightnes u can adjust the c0ntrast. Its the same brightnes if y0ull l0ok at it. Anyways, the benefit u can get fr0m a 16m c0l0urs is a quality vid

Haha even with 256k colors is the screen brighter than some NOkia with 16m colors.

K850i is also a Good Phone

GOOD
Long lasting battery
Scratch resistant screen
Ok camera
Good signal
Touch screen works without fault
Keeps the user friendly SE menu layout
NOT SO GOOD
Keypad buttons too small
Camera does not compare to 3MP Digital camera but ok for a phone one.
Sometimes freezes
Sometimes cannot display wallpapers, bug in software,turn off then on
Camera v.slow when set to 5MP
SUM UP
Worth buying, functional phone with good user friendliness, battery is stonkingly long lasting, screen is good quality, been pretty much problem free, forget reading the stupid 'N95 is better than K850i' comments as they're no help to anyone, and very biased depending on what model they own. Moderator should clean up all those posts,
8/10 for the phone. Ive had maybe 20phones in my life and its in the top 4 of favourites. Hope this helps a prospective buyer, its a very good phone, don't get carried away with the specs, eg it hasn't wi-fi. etc. Thats why we all own computers that are 100 times quicker, why would you want to scroll across a page to read a sentence on a tiny phone screen anyway?

Reason why K850 was the best.....
1)Excellent camera with bestpic,photofix options....
2)Tremendous Multi-Media device with Walkman player 3.0 installed.
3)Built-In Accemelator for viewing photos/Videos.
4)Fast response even with Gigs of data
5)A perfect battery for a phone of such class..

I have taken delivery of this phone today and i gotta say its awesome phone... if you go to you tube and type in Sony Ericsson K850 it gives you a run down of everything the phone does... I love this phone and look forward to it being my buddy for the next 12 months :-)

U know some tin it u dial a nimber last month u are lost now u know just 3 digits u can still find it this K850 holds a lot of memory like in o2
the best girl in earth u can get now the call cut botton is excellent.
but i agree the only problem is some times the touch screen does nt work properly wen u are tensed but still worth itt

Its amazing....i have always used SE, but this one is awesome...i have gone thru other multitudes comments on the problem they have faced, however its not necessary that anyone one else would have the same issue...you just need to tak care of it...
& yeah the camera, you just have to fiddle around with the functions and you will get your desire shots...

Yes it has Touchscreen Buttons 3 of them. and it can have GPS With add on accessory by Sony Ericsson.

im taking apart my v3x and replacing the USB on it to see if i can make it work.
i need to solder it together. dam thing overheated and melted apart the connection between the phone and the usb slot! the internal build quality
anyway.
