Upgraded to R1EA031
Improvements/Changes
-The "loading" thing you are saying is now changed "upgrading" and has improved speed up to 70%
-The loudspeaker really increased! I'm astonished, but quality did not change though.
-Using the megabass is comparable to w800 in my opinion.
-You can now know if you are pressing the touchkeys right coz it has separate sound from the other keys( and even vibration).
-Nice animation between pics! ^_^
-PICTURES! - 50% improvement, set photo to ISO 100 and the wash-out problem is now washed-out!
-CAMERA FLASH - 40% improvement - clean sensor using toothbrush (small button near 3 lead flash)and overburns go byebye at a required distance.
-Faster multimedia!
-Equalizer bug fixed, "volume and zoom" bug fixed
-"menu slow when at mp3" bug fixed
Downside ;(
-missing media landscape background image
-lags when reading from card
-a lot of start-ups after firmware upgrade (lasts for a night) but becomes OK afterwards.
-still smudge-full casing(Joke!joke) ^_^
R1EA031 is a good upgrade.

I purchased new Sony Ericsson k850 and it really Rocksssss......
1) Excellent 5 megapixel camera
2) Beautiful touch sensitive keys.
3) Powerful xenon flash.
4) Great multi-media features...

Like many others, after reading the majority of the reviews for this phone i was quite hesitant about upgrading to it! but i felt i had to make my own opinion of it, and so went ahead and ordered one. BIG Mistake!!. Having been a 'Nokia' & 'LG' user for the past number of years i felt the urge for a change. The phone itself is generally okay ... it initially froze on me after first kicking it up, but i just put that down to the phone being new!. The touch sensor buttons worked fine, as did the other features. The major problem i found with this phone lay with the 5 Megapixel camera. Don't get me wrong, i'm no David Bailey! but i do know how to take a good photo using a camera phone. This camera however just didn't let me do that!. Some have previously said that the reviewers on this forum haven't been holdng it properly etc. and maybe they hadn't been?? Not in my case though. The camera was held in the correct position, and all the settings were okay. But it still wouldn't give me a piccie that was half decent!!. Some were black, and the ones that weren't were of such poor quality that to believe it was 5MP was stretching ones imagination a little too far!. I upgraded from a Nokia 6280 and i can say, with hand on heart, that the photos from my nokia were of far superior quality. Suffice to say that this phone is now on its way back in exchange for a nokia 6500 slide. Never again will i go near a Sony Ericsson, it's Nokia or LG all the way for me. But like i said initially, if you really want this phone, you're just going to have to get it, and find out for yourself what a total waste of time it is!.

Media problem got solved too!
d memory card was a bit loose, i guess.
i dunno wats hppnin, but, m lovin it!!!
lol.
daylight pix r awesum, so r d nite pix.
d flash is very powerful.
love d 3 LED lights 4 Video.
gr8 fone.
Now, only 1 thng, jus wan d loudspkr sound 2 increase.
hope 2 new firmware release ASAP 4 d Asia-Pacific region.

btw, i got da green 1!!!
now, one more problem, lol.
wen i select media, i get dis msg as 'loading 3%' wen i try 2 chek videos or pix or music.
n den, even afr 5 mins, its still at 3%.

mate, try changing d settings in white balance to 'incandescent'. now, try takin d pic @ nite.

Been 2 days since is bought dis fone.
Camera problem was not a real problem, it was jus due 2 d friggin plastic sheet!
but, i will admit dat d loading things is a bit irritating.
I wud give a rating of 8/10.

or junkyskunky i suggest you use your own headphones which are of FAR superioer quality. afterall, you can just plug them in to your standard 3.5mm jack :)

what's the stall about on the fw update SE???
im just gonna try to purchase an hpm-77 or /80 headset for this mf'r, hope it solves the problem for the stupeed MBass issue.
oh yeah, while im at it, might as well buy me a 500w flashbulb to avoid dark pics even in a well lighted condition.....

you must consider the following first, as not all update service location updates at the very same time
a. what brand do you have e.g. O2, T-mobile, Orange
b. what is your location e.g. Nordic, adriatic, North Europe, APAC-ANZ
AS of the moment, O2uk is already up, as well as Adriatic, Some parts of Europe is up.
There is no news yet for asian countries, and I have no news on the middle east.
I, unfortunately has APAC_ANZ China_SO firmware, so i am still on a standby mode...

firmware is already coming for us.
the R1EA031 increased loudspeaker and earphone volume.
^_^
I'm still waiting for the firmware in my region, same region as junky.
Also, media player speed was also increased.
And additional feature is you can add separate sound or vibration when pushing the touch sensitive softkeys.

even 037 dusn hav problems.
i personally havent experienced ne problems (touchwood) till now regarding d 'slow' software.
also, d lense cover opens n closes perfectly.
n yeah, b prepared 2 buy a new pair of earfones/headfones!
